STIV BATORS Starring in THE ULTIMATE 3-MINUTE ROCK’N’ROLL INTERVIEW mylifeinconcert.com
Музыка
The late Stiv Bators-former lead singer of The Dead Boys and at this point fronting Lords of the New Church-partakes in this informal congress with Toronto's CityTV's NewMusic host JD Roberts in 1983.
You know it’s going to be a good when “his liver is okay and the bones have repaired” is part of the optimistic preamble, later followed by Stiv discussing an incident in Finland where he “gave (the bouncers) an obscene gesture and they sort of, uh, come out to dance on me, about six of ‘em….”
It’s the best three minutes you’ll spend all day. Be good to yourself and give it a watch.

I feel like I've heard JD's voice in many voice-over and narration bits...RIP Stiv...I still do my 5k runs with your music dude 🤘
Greatest frontman of all time! Criminally underrated musician. RIP Stiv

Stiv Bators was a scumbag. He used to still lyrics that other people wrote and pass them off as his iwn.
Such a great loss. It's crazy how old he seemed at the time, we thought 40 was way over the hill. Now it seems young, he could have still been rocking in his 70's.
Stiv was one of the funniest kindest person I've ever known. Thank you for this, he is missed so much.
I have a picture of my dad and Stiv on my fridge...I live in stiv's hometown and he was buddies with my dad...ive heard many interesting stories about the dead boys

Stiv, we will never forget you, my dear friend.🖤🖤🖤
Stiv may have lived a very rough life, But in every interview at least that I’ve heard it’s a breath of fresh air to hear how well spoken & full of a bit more life he was compared to some of his (with all due respect) miserable junkie peers.

@@K._Oss Stiv was drunk as a skunk when he died. I mean, I get it… heroin bad, booze good, but the fact is that had it not been for the alcohol, he probably never would’ve stumbled out onto a busy Paris street and gotten hit by a car in the first place, but he probably would’ve had enough mental clarity to make the decision to go to the hospital after being hit, rather than deciding to just go home and pass out (and subsequently die of internal bleeding)… so in his case it never really mattered much that he was no longer spiking junk.
The greatest punk front man
A great punk rock icon RIP STIV
Amazing voice 💖
Indeed had one convincing monday morning with The Dead Boys. After that went where the fads needed him. Went totally as expected.......

I don't know exactly where this interview took place but it was in Toronto. This interview was for a late, great CITY-TV music magazine program that ran in the early 80s called The New Music. It was such a great show with tons of memorable interviews.

@@mylifeinconcert Yes, Toronto born and raised here. Loved The New Music, Much Music, Speakers Corner, pretty much everything CITY-TV. Actually met Denise Donlon when she was Prez of Sony Music up on Leslie just north of Eglinton. Also met Mark Daily (“City TV....EVERYWHERE”). Was trying to figure out where in Toronto this interview was done as it doesn’t look familiar at all. For some reason I’m getting Inn on the Park or The Prince Hotel vibes but have no clue. Thanks for getting back to me tho.

Yes, drunk and hit by a car, but he didn’t die right away. He should’ve gone to the hospital, but instead he just went home and ended up dying of internal bleeding. I loved Stiv, but… pretty dumb way to go, in my opinion.
