At 4 minutes the white zip ties magically became black zip ties. Ah... the magic of video editing.

EXCELLENT in every respect. A great visual complement to Sam Devlin's book on stitch-and-glue construction.

I have a love hate relationship with my GoPros.... They are great except when they are not... Just filmed a whole foilboard build progression to find out about half the videos the video froze part way through.... but thanks for the comment made me chuckle!

There are many epoxy brands around . West is one of the most expensive. But has the best marketing...

Great tutorial with a tip I never seen on the peel off. I don't have a problem glueing a joint but when working with a couple of guys the problem I've often encountered is passing the joint. Especially guys who don't use ventilation when mixing up epoxy.

great Infos , simple and easy, just personally I do pour the epoxy over the filler ( like when making a cake with floor and adding milk ,etc over) so I have more control over the filler past result and I wast less epoxy and filler, always time to add more of both .. I used Peel ply for years, like the one with red strip on it ( more expensive ) but better idea when you put it where he goes and the proper result ..i am in Australia ..cheers

u didnt wet the wood before applying the goo. You should have brushed resin into the seam before adding filler to the resin. If that is thirsty wood it will drain the resin out of the goo.

Hi - this is very descriptive. Can you please do a longer video with a piece that has a dummy bulkhead in place to understand how to do this on a complex shape ?

Fiberglass Supply hi - I have referred to this video a couple of times already ! I have a couple of sections that are too long especially at the bulkheads. Is there any disadvantage of doing this in sections ? If yes should there be an overlap ?

I think you mentioned tack weld inbetween the ties first. But that you have not done. Look like you straight away fillet over the ties.???

Okay, so I have a question. How do you do a splice joint, what I mean is splice the forward part to the aft part of a side?

Sounds like you're describing a scarf to make longer boards/sheets, quite a different operation. Whole other videos/articles on different scarfing methods. Router sleds, planing, belt sanders, table saw jigs for boards, etc.

Good catch. We shot that a long time ago but if I recall correctly when we did the edit we didn't have footage of tacking with the 5 minute epoxy so we had to go back and shoot it with different panels.
