This is hands down one of my favourite Disney songs ever. It just describes friendship so well. I even cried listening to this a couple of times when I'm feeling really emotional. Most songs today are garbage. Always about love, getting drunk, sex, attractive things about the opposite gender namely their physical appearance, etc. Come on! Ain't there any innocence left in the world?

I love that this started with "what's with the chimp and the bug?" I met my best friend 9 years ago, and we say this all the time to each other as a conversation starter, as an alternative to 'what's up'. It's absolutely perfect considering we both love this movie so much. A movie and a song about friendship and never giving up, rather than the typical Disney "true love" trope. This song puts a tear in my eye every time. I don't think any other movie or song has ever done that to me.

This song is beautiful. My favorite Disney song. ^^ This song reminds me of time where my childhood and ignorance was coming to an end. I realized the problems my family were having, things I'd need to do outside of school... a lot became clear. But listening to this song, it made me realize it wasn't all bad. Still had my family, and friends... we're okay after all, and the bad times don't last long. This song reminds me that there's always something beautiful to look forward to.

Lyrics!!! In the quiet time of evening When the stars assume their patterns And the day has made his journey And we wondered just what happened To the life we knew before the world changed When not a thing I held was true But you were kind to me And you reminded me... That the world is not my playground There are other things that matter And when a simple needs protecting My illusions all would shatter But you stayed in my corner The only world I knew was upside down And now the world and me, I know you carry me You see the patterns in the big sky Those constellations look like you and I Just like the patterns in the big sky We could be lost we could refuse to try But we made it through in the dark night Would those lucky guys turn out to be But that unusual blend of my funny friend and me I'm not as clever as I thought I was I'm not the boy I used to be because You showed me something different You showed me something pure I always seemed so certain but I was really never sure But you stayed and you called my name When others would have walked out on a lousy game And you could've made it through But my funny friend and me You see the patterns in the big sky Those constellations look like you and I That tiny planet and a bigger guy I don't know whether I should laugh or cry Just like the patterns in the big sky We'll be together 'til the end is nigh Don't know the answer or the reason why We'll stick together till the day we die If I had to do this all a second time I won't complain or make a fuss When the angels sing Like that unlikely blend Of those two funny friends That's us.....

I know what you mean. I grew up in the 90's with all the great Disney films and they sold out 2D animation for CGI after everyone went crazy about Shrek. At least they released a new hand drawn film recently. They say that they'll do a 2D animated feature every other year from now on. Roy Disney Jr. was a big advocate of returning to their roots with animation. He really pushed for The Princess And The Frog and he died about a month ago. Let's see if Disney follows thru with their promise.

14 years later, do you still remember your friend?
and in may 2024 i,am still here to listen😇
There is no way this movie is 22 years old.

I can't believe it either, man when times was good fun and simple, now we just see the same thing remakes after remakes after remakes 😭
I’ve watched this move so many times, but honestly, other than Tom Jones’ perfect world, I have never noticed any other music in the movie 😂
I like this song and it also fits the movie. poocha and kuzco developed a special relationship.

помню когда смотрел мульт, была в концовке песня стинга, блин, тогда я не знал как её найти, нашел спустя долгие годы
@chelitoman123 I agree,it's also my personal favorite movie.
The guy that appears between 4:19 to 4:21 is voiced by Joe Whyte, know for being the voice of Chris Redfield and Richard Aiken in Resident Evil 1 and the voice of Mr. Krabs in: SuperSponge, Operation Krabby Patty and Battle for Bikini Bottom (where he also voiced Mermaid Man). He also voiced Mermaid Man in Employee of the Month.

This was the only remaining song after Disney re-made the film. Sting sued over it and I'm a peaceful man.... else I'd Ki## to get my ears on the rest... :] I love this song more than any real-man should love anything... :)
