I just lost one of my childhood friends to covid...I had been in love with him since I met him at the age of 9....we found out that we were born on the same day, in the same hospital....i had the privilege of being his friend for 3 years til he moved away....i never forgot him and he had a special place in my heart throughout my life,we were able to reconnect through social media, but our paths never crossed in adulthood, so I guess our love was never meant to be...this song is the only thing that comforts me 💔❤💔

This is a song that can resonate to the heart of each human being despite one's worldview. The fact remains that each person is broken. Artists are the philosophers for the world. Sting nailed it. No one could even begin to comprehend the evil that my husband and, I have faced in the past four years. Our experience has been "surreal" and, being a musician, I found great comfort in this song. Many Thanks Fellow Artist, Eileen

Somehow what each of us had that was still whole was just what the other needed to heal, I didn't deserve to be loved that much and even in a perfect dream never imagined it could last nearly 40 years. I truly hope you both are well and have that love!

Stevie wonder said : I love this song . Myself I love it too . Thank you Sting for this song . If blood will flow when flesh and steel are one , Drying in the color of the evening sun , Tomorrow's rain will wash the stains away , But something in our minds will always stay , Perhaps this final act was meant To clinch a lifetime's argument That nothing comes from violence and nothing ever could For all those born beneath an angry star , Least we forget how fragile we are . On and on the rain will fall Like tears from a star , Like tears from a star . On and on the rain will say How fragile we are , How fragile we are . On and on the rain will fall Like tears from a star , Like tears from a star . On and on the rain will say How fragile we are , How fragile we are . If blood will flow when flesh and steel are one , Drying in the color of the evening sun , Tomorrow's rain will wash the stains away But something in our minds will always stay , On and on the rain will fall Like tears from a star , Like tears from a star , On and on the rain will say , How fragile we are , How fragile we are , On and on the rain will fall , Like tears from a star , Like tears from a star . Con gratulations Sting / Gordon Sumner for your Polar prize ! Thank you for endless joy dancing to this (salsaversion) although my sorrow lately has been like your stars. It inspired me to write about it; A little grain of sand was lost in the heat of the desert among countless others longing for the soothing water A little breeze hears her cry and lifts her up to the welcoming ocean What are you she asks? And the oceans says I am the sorrow of the stars filled with their tears of salt Why are they sad she asks? Because you don't see the beauty in life And what is that she asks? The beauty in life is love What is love she asks? Come to me and I will show you the ocean says and puts her in a clam sheltered from the heat of the sun and the wawes above She begins to grow and shine I see now what love is But why don't others? They are afraid the ocean answers Of what she asks? That they are not like others Must they be to be loved she asks? Oh no, the ocean says Just like grains of sand and snow No one is the same on the outside But on the inside they are all alike They all want love

this song as beautiful and as revealing as it is takes me back to a time when we as humans were confronted with man's inhumainty. Pinoche and his evils made us as human beings made us take a long hard look at ourselves and what we are really about. this song is about all those victims who disappeared never to be seen again, it's called they 💃 alone. one day we'll dance on their graves, one day we'll sing our freedom, and we'll dance.

Wonderful song, and Sting interprets a song like it's his own. He handles lyrics with the emotion of Billy Holiday.

Such an exceptional melody; I play this song while I teach writing to my 8th graders (when they are about to write in their journals about certain topics) .....the effect it has on them is fascinating; and they write more. I yearn for more songs like this in today's world...

".....on and on this song has prove, how crappy today's pop songs are..." :-) I understood why Sting used his real name for writing this song instead of his stage name, as this mesmerizing piece comes straight from his heart, unfiltered. Timeless classic, never gets old, and will outlive us all..... Thank you for your wonderful contribution to this world, Mr. Sumner.

This is a gorgeous song. As I watched the beautiful sunset in the video I thought how gorgeous that is too. And yet how ironic and tragic that many people have experienced the wrath of the ocean and lost their lives at sea. And yet here I sit and see it as one of the best places on earth. And so we are so fragile and so at the mercy of the ocean.

The first time that I was fortunate to hear this song, many years ago, it spoke to me and I thought, how much I was like Sting. I have since come to the awakening that the rain, will cleanse us, make us clean again and forgiveness is one of our most precious possessions and abilities, for with the rain, and the cleanse, we become strong with the knowledge that in that moment of fragility and vulnerability comes our strength to carry on and to think differently of ourselves.
