STIHL msa 161t vs. Husqvarna T540i XP vs. Husqvarna T535i XP vs. Echo DCS-2500T

Top handle battery chainsaw comparison with Femalelumberjack.
I'm sharing my thoughts on the 4 akku chainsaws, what I like and don't like and as always a small cookie test :)

Exchanging with Husqvarna for the T540i XP battery saw after having lots of stalling issues with the new Husqvarna 130. No problems with the string or hedge trimmer battery version. No servicing the engine/carb is one less thing to worry about. May lose the sound but it's not a car! Just need it to get the job done reliably. Excellent review!

Excellent review of these saws. It nice to see a review after gear has been used for a while rather than it coming straight out of the box 😁 I encourage you to use the grey clip on the back of the Husqy again, this is fantastic as it means you can stow it away with one hand rather than having to move the clip and/or the caritool. I wish all saws had this clip for easy stowing of saws. Keep up the great work!!

I believe the words you where looking for was back bar or back cut. Thank you for the in-depth review. The Huski would have me a little hesitant on a purchase because of the smaller chain gage as battery saws generally put out more torque than gas powered saws.

You can switch out the chain drive gear with a spare part from 535i to get 3/8" pitch and switch out the bar to either 1.3 or 1.5 mm for the 540i XP to use other chains! Cheers

Good review but I disagree that the Stihl should have an on/off button. Being able to instantly use it without having to wait for the electronics to wake up is great -- I hate having to press the On button and wait 2 seconds when limbing or sawing logs etc. The chainbrake makes on/off switches unnecessary. Been using an MSA200 for 3 years, now have a 161T, and the extra safety button on the handle is not a problem.

Use properly sharpened chains that you don’t need to push. The ECHO is a game-changer. Light weight and nimble. I’ve worked with people who constantly stalled chains on an MS200T in the cut. A properly sharpened chain will self-feed and cut faster than laying on the saw. No interest in 1/4 pitch chains or saws that look like a converted Dust Buster. Thanks for posting this video and respect your work in-tree. Work Safe👋

With all due respect for your great in depth analysis and knowledge, is it only me that thinks all of the chainsaws have too loose a tension on the chains? Looking at the video with the saws on the bench, all the saws chains seem to sag slightly. A loose chain could likely come off and there would be damage to it.

As I see it, the electrics has a great foothold on pruning/debranching and maybe even smaller trees, but for heavier work the engine driven are still unmatched!? Anyway, tak for en god video! I think the stihl "always on" mode is a good thing by itself. You know it is dangerous from the moment it has a battery on, its very visual.

I don't understand what the benefit of a push button switch would be on the Stihl. You should never rely on any electric safety when performing maintenance on the chain, especially considering how easy it is to remove the battery.

We're you not unfair? Maybe you should have used the sthil 220. I am just thinking, for if you use the top model of huswqvarna should do the same with other brands.

The 220 isn’t out yet as a top handle saw and I did say that they don’t have the same power

I am a huskvarna fun this time I buy bouth the sthil 161t and the 220 just because they are much cheaper here on Portugal. Honestly I am more happier with 161t because the battery lasts longer. But to compare on this case I think should have used the 220, other then that I think is like comparing a 4 cilinder car with a 8 cilinder.

Jeffrey you come across as a 'Mine's bigger than yours' sort of guy....and should know just how unappealing that is, putting you as it does, in the company of so many socially maladjusted males. And regarding electric saws, try looking up Reg Coates - whose experience and skill are matched by very few. See what he thinks of lithium and consider whether your disparaging remark was warranted.

I appreciate your diagnosis doctor. I will look into that. Maybe you should do a little soul searching for yourself and figure out why you find the need to attack every white male that has an opinion on something. I am sorry if my remark offended you. I am simply saying that from my experience on both electric and gas saws a professional is going to be a lot more productive with gas.
