Good Machine but a big problem that apparently stihl know about us the guard at the end has a decent gap after the last cutting tooth and can be annoying sweeping over a hedge as it get bits caught in that gap that it can’t cut so snags, why stihl didn’t realise this in ‘their hours of testing’ is beyond me, we also have the one down from this the older version if you like and that doesn’t have this issue

I've got several hs's sat in the shed and I never use then. I always use the hl's even on small dome shrubs just use the shorter shaft k version. I like the balance and the ability to angle the off of the hedge. I pretty much never run my hl heads in the straight position thinking about it! I've spent alot this week myself van tyres, trailer tyres, trail floor £1k gone🙉 Hope the new little toy holds up well👍

Reguarding the length of time the battery kit lasts, the Stihl kit does come with a 2 year warrenty. I had most of my HLA66 rebuilt under warrenty a few months ago at 18 months old. Bit of a faff but I bought another one as a spare at the same time. I use ap200 battery's in the hedge trimmers as I find them lighter and still last long enough in the cutters. Whilst the Stihl petrol kombi hedgecutter makes the occasional outing these days. I haven't used a petrol short reach hedge cutter for several years now.

I always reach for battery now before petrol if the job allows, I always thought if the machine was wear and tear rather than faulty it wouldn't be a warranty thing but nice one👌

I call them a session hedge cutter, if you doing general tidying new growth in shrubs and light hedges great, so we take battery ones in our maintenance round for the serious hedges these don’t cut it so back to petrol, but I do like the size and weight for everyday light trimming on the maintenance round, guard tip snagging annoys me though

@@LewisgardenservicesLtd The 130 R is a great bit of kit, light and give a really good cut for the work I do, I use it with the Stihl AP battery carrying system. Basically a small rucksack, with the battery holster inside the rucksack. I use either the AP 300s or 300, that's plenty for the hedge trimming I do. But cable can get in the way sometimes. The rucksack with one battery is light enough for longer work times. Be safe out there. Cheers Paul
