Saw the Nov. 22nd show here in Atlanta....had no regrets! Got tickets for my Dad and I and it was definitely a treasure I'll remember...SITKOL was the first album that my dad introduced me to around the age of 8 back in the early 90s after Stevie had put out Jungle Fever and it quickly became one of my top 3 favorites. Now at the age of 27, I was able to share the experience with the one who introduced me to this great artist and enjoy some timeless music. Thank you for this footage...Black Man is def. one of the tracks that was way ahead of its time on this album and also the fact that he included Pres. Barack Obama at the end. Again, it was an excellent show!

Had the BIGGEST CRUSH on Stevie. My mom took me to see him when I was 8 in the 70's. He was on tour for his INNERVISIONS album. I would have gone to his last tour for an encoure but I was pissed that he was only going to do the songs from TKOLA. I loved that album as well. It just wasn't my fav.

The call-and-responses lines after the one referring to TJ Marshall (line #17) are omitted in the studio album version. The first line after TJ Marshall , line #18, refers to William Purvis. Line #19 cannot be made out. The penultimate line (line #20) refers to T.A. Carrington. The final line, line #21, refers to Jan Matzeliger.

The reason why this song is referred to as “Black man” is that it’s the most commonly mentioned demographic group.

Derrick Williams One clue to the last line before Jan Matzeliger is the year 1876. That line refers to a Black man.
