Stevie is still alive in Mr. Tabs hands
Can't thank you enough for this! As embarassing as it may be I have been practicing this for the last 6 months little by little and just in the last month have made it to the last lick. I can finally hack my way through it but still need a lot of work to make it all fit together and sounds close to decent. I have spent many hours on this video and can't wait to get to the next one!

Thanks so much for your support 🙏. It all takes time to get the most difficult pieces down and it will all become second nature eventually. Don't be embarrassed! I was there once upon a time, trust me. It's great and inspiring to anybody who reads your comment, I am sure, that you have come back to this to continually work on it and nail it. Best of luck with the next song 😊

Just look at all the years Stevie played before he wrote it. We ALL start somewhere. But few keep going. I really appreciate this lesson. And it's not easy.

@@Mr.Tabs.Guitar.Lessons I've been watching this video for the past 6 months and have played the opening riffs over a thousand times. I'm just now getting to the solo section. But once you know it, you're on the shoulders.

Nothing embarrasing about that. On the contrary. You should be proud of your hard work!
I know a lot of people don't like to play songs note for note and prefer to add their own inflection but I prefer to learn a song exactly how it's played. Your covers do just that, they're covered note for note and played perfectly. Regarding SRV, this is perfect and I really hope you do more SRV covers.
i love these straight to the point lessons. they should make more people like you
This is absolutely excellent! There can only be one Stevie Ray Vaughan but this is definitely as close as anyone can possibly get. Very accurate, excellent tone and playing. Great video! Cheers! \m/

@@plaidman67 you said this is as close as anyone can possibly get. This tutorial is one of the best if not the best tutorial for pride and joy, but to say this is the closest anyone could possibly get to SRV must have not heard a lot of John Mayer. That's just facts. I'd bet even the great guitar player who made this video would agree.

@@plaidman67 I've never seen John do a tutorial for pride and joy but he does have some pretty cool tutorials up. I'm glad I found this channel, I really like the layout of this pride and joy tutorial.
I think this guy has telepathic powers that allows ghost to enter his body and play their songs note for note. That must be it. Thank you Stevie. We miss you! All jokes aside, Mr. Tabs you're amazing, probably hear this a lot but this is so cool, such a huge body of work you've put out and the Tube is the perfect tool for learning each measure and playing back to watch your fingering and picking is amazing.
Just wow. Thing about Stevie to me is his rhythm is spectacularly strong in his playing, he effortlessly hits his strings ferociously, Ive seen plenty of covers and the notes might be right and the timing ok but it doesnt sound right without that ferocious intensity. You know what Im talking about because you just did it, sounded great, better yet, sounded authentic.
Stevie we all recognize you, you're not dead, show us you're alive!!! Great job man, such aggressive and authentic
Amazing. This was the first SRV tune I ever heard and really made me a fan. This and the amazing ‘Mary had a little lamb’ are the best blues numbers I think I’ve ever heard. Love the fact that you went to the trouble of getting a signature guitar for the job. Well done.
Man! This is like listening to the original! close your eyes you would never know.
Wait so Stevie Ray Vaughn was alive all this time?!

Amazing video, you nailed the Texas shuffle and got a lot closer to SRV's tone than others i've heard. I'd love to see you cover Rude Mood by SRV if you're open to any suggestions for future videos. Keep up the good work.
