I just found this on Jeff's site. I didn't know Jeff was there. In the early hours of August 27th, 1990, Stevie Ray Vaughan and four others, died in a tragic helicopter crash. In the two days prior to the tragedy, Vaughan, Jeff, Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy, Robert Cray and Jimmie Vaughan shared a bill and spent time playing and hanging out together at Alpine Valley in East Troy, Wisconsin. Since their first meeting in 1985, he and Vaughan had been good friends. Jeff’s pal, Cory Mihaluk convinced the then barely 19 year-old Healey to accept Albert Collins‘ invitation to jam with him and Stevie at Toronto’s legendary blues club, Albert’s Hall. Many, including Jeff saw this as a defining moment in his fledgling career…Vaughan’s untimely death at the young age of 35 stunned Jeff and left a profound mark on his life. I remember him telling me that he knew exactly where the helicopter had crashed as he and Stevie had been walking there the night before… Over the last five years of his life, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jeff would play together a number of times and Jeff was proud to call him friend.

I saw SRV in concert not long before he died and he was just as amazing as any of the videos I've seen. I never saw Jeff but am very thankful for the videos.

I was an early SRV fan from Wisconsin. I was in total shock and sadness when the news came on. Never put off until tomorrow what is in your heart today. You might never get another’s chance. 😢

I saw Jeff Healey at a club venue in the eighties, his guitar was so loud it would knock you over.. and his band was a tight trio . Jeff was always good to his fans, he'd sign autographs and was always happy to chat with anyone. I have never heard anyone play guitar the way Jeff Healey played, he was incredible.

Blind since before he was even one year old, God only knows how he learned to play the guitar -- in a way that is uniquely his own. To ME, this video shows TWO legendary blues guitarists, as well as one of Stevie's best vocals. Not sure why Jeff wasn't singing, because he also had a great blues voice. Check out his live performance of "As the Years Go Passing by" .... It will absolutely astound you!

Absolutely! I actually think Jeff's licks were cleaner than SRV's in this! There are no words that can do justice to describe this absolute legend - Jeff Healey. It is a flat-out crime that he is not more widely known and exalted in the musical community.

Thank God they got to play together 😇 Stevie Ray never invited hardly anyone on-stage the more I think about it??? That says allot about his respect for Jeff, so happy he did man...

I love and hate all these great comments about Jeff, I was psyched to see him in 2008 april-may(in Sweden), but sadly he passed away in february-march. I really felt that. his music was a part of my up-bringing. My dad got to see him two times in the early 90s and I take his word for it, it was great!

One of my all-time favorites. I love to see the delight on SRV's face when Jeff stands up. Priceless.

Stevie Ray said that Jeff was the one guitarist that challenged him to be at his best when they played together.

I have watched this video a couple dozen times in the past. Jeff looks so young!! Stevie's face when Jeff jumps up and plays. Priceless!! I think they did some things together but with others too!! Keep it up! The surprise on your Facebook is awesome!

Hey Sue...What do you get when SRV plays with Jeff? Pure Magic! Stevie loved to play with others & share the stage, this is just another example of some straight up nasty Blues by 2 Men who loved to play!

Agree. Both Jeff and Stevie were taken way too soon. They had so much fun when they played together. The BIG similarity between Jeff and Stevie is they both completely emoted through their guitars. Actually, Jeff Healey was at Alpine Valley for what became Stevie's last show. He and Bonnie Raitt drove over from their gig to catch the show, but they didn't play. As I understand, they just watched backstage since the Alpine Valley show was packed with Eric Clapton, Robert Cray, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimmie Vaughan, and Buddy Guy.

What I enjoy, is watching reactions to those who have never heard of SRV. After moving to Texas a few years before his passing, I got a huge absorbing of his music, and just listening to him play brings back a lot of emotions.

I got to see Jeff at Niagara Falls on New Years Eve outdoors at the bottom of Clifton Hill while it was snowing and fireworks were shot off every hour at the bottom the falls. Perfect New Years Eve

I'm glad to see that you did this one and it looks like an additional one with Jeff Healey and his band, I believe you and everybody else you're just going to have to dig really hard because I have been told there is more footage of SRV & Jeff Healey playing together. Jeff and his band were phenomenal and it is true that both of them were taken way too soon, I'm thankful for the music that is Left Behind and what we can find on KZread which is just a blessing! But I always think if the two of them were still here and performing how much more would be in their musical Library's?

When I discovered Stevie, it opened up my world to all the greats. See, that was the thing about him. Stevie surrounded himself by his heroes as well giving a boost to rising stars and his favorite blues players. By listening to and following Stevie, its like having a master key to experience all of the greats. Sure he had his flaws like anyone else, but his heart is unmatched.

i don't think of Jeff as a blind guitarist. He is a canadian icon. He also payed trumpet. the fact that SRV played with him means everything

I heard an interviews with Stevie where he said you had to be careful when Jeff said up so you didn't get wacked with his guitar!!! I can't find any other videos of them together. Sorry. Please put SRV MTV unplugged. His 12srring acoustic skills are out of this world! He's the first artist to do unplugged.

Another display of how far and crazy good Stevie can play is Leave My Little Girl Alone. Austin City Limits one night in Texas.

The other thing, Jeff Healey always played a $200 Squier Stratocaster; it's Fender's budget line.

Jeff's technique would be almost impossible to teach. Strike that...IMPOSSIBLE.

if you like blues/jazz/rock with guitar work , you need to check out Laith Al Saadi complete disgrace, not only is Laith a monster on guitar, but the studio video recorded in 2 track has legends Leland Skar on Bass and Jim Keltner on drums. (yes Laith was on the voice...but this was recorded before that)

SRV has lots of Videos playing with some great artist IMO Tin Pan Alley with SRV and Johnny Copeland is a great song.

This is great, but I still think 'See the Light' is even better with his solo performance, Healey was just amazing.

They don't make em like those 2 anymore. Music industry today doesn't have anyone even close to that kind of skill.

A little more sedate as it's an acoustic performance, but still fantastic. Colin was also mates with Stevie Ray, and also toured with him. Two of my favourite Canadian guitar players, just having fun.

SRV had great respect for Jeff not just because he was blind but because he was a great player and had a better techinique playing flat on his lap and also you might get a guitar in the face if you ddnt look out when Jeff went off LOL
