Best modern prog rocker

Fabulous and another example of why modern Prog is in such great health after years in the wilderness. I can hear an awful lot of PFM in this piece - which is a good thing - and I love the way modern artist such as SW are both inventing a new vocabulary for Prog as well as integrating and respecting the legacy of the great Prog pioneers of the 70s!

This song pays homage to the best of the brit prog rock scene of the late sixties,early seventies. the influence of bands such as King Crimson, Genesis and Yes are unmistakeable.

I had this bass riff in my head all day, had to blare the cd on my way home...incredible songwriting and Nick is the MAN when it comes to bass.

I love Steven Wilson. I wish there were more of them walking this planet.

My Bulgarian soul is so happy for Niko Tsonev and also full of pride that a comrade has played on the same stage with the genius Steven Wilson and the other extremely talented guys in the group. Amazing performance!

Steven Wilson is a genius. My musical hero. His name will go down in history as one of the greatest of prog's.

Man... watching this makes me want to cower under my covers and never get out of bed again. To know that you will never be as talented as this is a horrible realization.

Simply incredible. This song just blows me away. I love how Steven is totally immersed in the music, it shows how passionate he feels about it. Excellent musicians and a flawless performance....just beautiful.

Check out the album Twinscapes by Colin Edwin and Lorenzo Feliciati. Thats pure jazz prog, and Colin used to be in a band with Steven, so its got a little bit of his influence in. Can't go wrong!

TheKevlar4 Well actually Kevlar, Steven has begun to work with members of Porcupine Tree recently. He guest starred on a track with Colin on the new Tim Bowness album, just to name an example. So maybe this is the push for them all to get back together eventually. I certainly hope so. I only got into PT around the time of Octane Twisted so as much as I love Steven's side projects (and the other members as well) I really want them to get back together so I have the chance to see them at least once.

I love it !!!! Luminol was the most amazing and brilliant surprise during the concert !!! Unforgetable !!!!

There's no one out there better or more talented then Steven Wilson.

Its just so good to see Mr. Wilson full of energy and just losing himself on the stage ! :-D

I don't get what is with all the thumbs down/dislikers... How can you not LOVE this? Ugh. Frustrating...

I was able to see Steven Wilson live front row and when this opened it was fucking godly. The memories! Best show I have ever been too, and I have seen OPETH, metallica, ozzy, iron maiden and rush. This show spoke to me. AMAZING EXPERIENCE, thank you Steven and band

He manages to be not only a brilliant composer but to focus on reinventing himself musically, so it makes his sound stay fresh as ever while keeping an essence. I'm pretty sure there's no musician quite like him in the world. The guy is, as you said, a genius.

Just attended his show last nice in Copenhagen... What an enchanting and beautiful experience that was! Every moment of the 2-hour long concert was awesome. I envy all of you who are yet to have Steven Wilson visitting your country ;)

I saw them back in May and it was the best night of my life. If you can meet them, DO IT. It will make your night that much better! Marco is soooooo awesome to talk to :) One of the best decisions of my life was to see them and it will be yours too

SW (the band as a whole) is the apex of live performances and production of this age.

Niko was awesome for the songs of this era, this song shows why Steven dropped him though, Steven was reaching for a more soaring classic rock vibe by this point. But Niko's playing had so much atmosphere, it was perfect for the Insurgentes and Grace material, and the atmospheric parts of this song are really lifted by his performance.

I was kind of disappointed that Marco didn't get the gig in Dream Theater, but after completely obsessing over this album, I'm glad that he didn't.

That was a journey into the souls of great musicians.

The music is fantastic, of course. The musicians are at the top of their game. And Lasse's HD photography is stunning. I can't flippin' WAIT for this Blu Ray.

I think that this is the best piece of music from 21st century.

Just saw Steven 2 nights ago in DC. Absolutely incredible...one of the best live performances I've ever witnessed. Same lineup except Guthrie (BEAST) on guitar...I was starstruck

This sounds so eastern somehow, especially in the refrain. Love it!

IMHO SW has kept prog rock alive and well - and this latest 5.1 mix of Raven will rock you hard. Best thing out there! And thank you Steven for all the great remixes of ELP, Tull and Crimson. I mean, damn.
