Steven Spielberg tells Tom Cruise that “you saved Hollywood’s ass and you might have saved theatrical distribution. Seriously, ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ might have saved the entire theatrical industry.”

This is probably the closest well ever get to a director to tell someone “YOU SAVED CINEMA!”
That hug was so heartwarming. You can tell they have so much love and respect for each other. And BTW War of the Worlds is one of my all time favorite movies so that's amazing

Khm, out of context , any hug is hearwarming. Cruise crudely tried , i must say also rudely, to get Spielberg into Scientology. There is a long story there and Spielberg after their dual film partnership , for a long, time did not talk. Some scientology people were following Spielberg's wife out of her church to persuade to get into sc. p.s. sorry, dont wanna be that guy , a smartass, but , this is true.

@@ytuser_3122Minority Report is a sci-fi noir masterpiece.
Watching Steven Spielberg and Tom Cruise hugging each at the Oscars 2023 it’s so heartwarming I know that they had a falling out years ago but after seeing this reunion it made me cry Steven Spielberg is such an amazing caring and humble person and one the greatest director of all time ❤

Tom’s such a classy, humble guy.
One movie however good isn’t going to save an industry that has told it’s customers to frak off for a decade.

It may be the only comment, but even if a million comments were added, this would still be the best one

Avatar and Mario are helping. I think Hollywood fascism is failing. They cant keep losing money forever for a failed marxist ideology.
Cheers for saving our cinema in glasgow 2023
Hope they do another movie together. They had a falling out.
Tom loves Steven because finally he has someone he can look down on.
He said the same thing to Cameron.

Hollywood is dead. Hollywood is your Gamestop/EB games store that used to sell new games and experiences, but now mostly sells merchandise representing the past and better times.

Nope that's not the problem, the problem is that they are now ashamed of the Hollywood pre woke days and they in full on Cultural Revolution Mao style.
I disagree. Tom did not save Hollywood's ass. Yes he is great at his craft and I think the only person who is non-woke. One person can't save Hollywood as Tom normally releases one movie per year. Hollywood sucks these days.

I would say Steve said that because of the high box office (1 bi, my man) and until now, Tom Cruise is carrying Hollywood in his backs, but very much soon, Nolan and Gerwig will help him

He saved Hollywood that year. Cruise is one of the few stars left who makes classic entertainment without the woke b.s.
Good, they made two my favorite films ever. One idea? Remake Bullitt and cast TC in Steve McQueens role. Please do another film together?

@@user-jd8jl3pr7e Thank you! Maybe Mr. Spielberg and Mr. Cruise can get together and do something like that or a WW2 spy thriller like a remake of Where Eagles Dare co-starring with Donal Craig. Appreciate the kind words it means a lot.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
