Steven Seagal - The Mojo Priest Pt. 1 | The Search for the World's Most Important Blues Guitars

Музыка

THE MOJO PRIEST PT. 1
Many actors and movie stars have attempted music careers, but few have had as odd of a go at it as disgraced 90s action icon Steven Seagal.
While vying for blues-rock stardom, Seagal amassed an unprecedented collection of holy grail American guitars once belonging to the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Albert King, and Muddy Waters --- and then he suddenly disappeared to Russia.
'The Mojo Priest' is an ongoing search for some of the most iconic blues guitars in American history, and a wholehearted attempt to find out the truth - and the lies - about one of the more absurd and forgotten moments in recent music history.

I've been a multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter for over 30 years. Don't waste your cash on expensive guitars. Just practice and play every day. It all comes down to YOU - your commitment, dedication and good taste.

Buy the guitars that are right for you. Inspiration matters a lot. 1 professional instrument will save you a ton of money on nickel and dimeing yourself.

Steven proves that he is the real deal when it comes to collecting priceless guitars owned by the royalty of the kingdom of the Blues. He demonstrates that he understands that the best way to display these priceless musical artifacts is outdoors on a damp lawn. ...And don't forget kids that Steven Seagal is the guy who taught Jimi Hendrix how to sing like a black man , waaaaay back in 1971. Seagal has some real history behind him. He isn't just all talk.

I would bet I know how he met and got to play with some of the greats, and it isn't because Segal is great. More like money bought his way in. You left someone out who I would guess is the reason. I also play, since 1969 (Age 5). I have been playing (Poorly) for a very long time. Lived in Mississippi 22 years and have been in every MS Blues joint you can think of and some you can't. Played in a couple. One year I was in Clarksdale at the Blues Festival and went for a night in Ground Zero. Saw this guy play who has been my favorite Delta Blues guitarist since. He is great, ad he has played with all the living greats. Including B.B. King. Me and Morgan Freeman have something in common. I like Ground Zero, he is co-owner of Ground Zero. And both of our favorite Musician is James "Superchiken" Johnson. The guy up on stage with the acrylic guitar, killing it that night was Superchiken Johnson. The next day he was back up there but playing a gas can guitar. Right outside (And up the street) on stage next to the B..B. King Blues Museum, B.B. King was playing. How many of your viewers know who Superchiken Johnson is? Not many I'd guess. Well Steven Segal knowns him. He hired him as a backup guitarist. Segal hired one of the top Delta Blues Guitarists in the nation to be his backup. But Morgan Freeman hired him long before Segal as a regular at Ground Zero. I doubt Segal with his mediocre playing, would have ever been able to get onstage with the greats if not for knowing the right people. The fact that he signed Superchiken Johnson to be his"backup" guitarist, someone that plays about a thousand times better than him, tells me he has been to Ground Zero, likely knows Morgan Freeman, and likely became self ingratiated with those greats through Freeman and Superchiken Johnson. Just my theory. The only way Johnson became his backup was because of big $$$. Johnson is so many levels of talent above Segal they arent even in the same universe. You have Blues questions about Segal, maybe ask James "Superchiken" Johnson, I hear he is not too hard to get hold of.
