Bloch caught up with the Principal Dancer of The Royal Ballet to talk about his inspirations, how he handles nerves and the challenges of dancing with a new ballerina.

His dancing is just wonderful. I wonder how much his training as a tapper informs his petite allegro work in ballet, because his feet are just a blur; that's how fast he is. I think that tap training turned out to be a secret weapon for ballet dancing and he probably didn't even realize it when he was developing his techniques. But it's damn sure working for him now!!

Such an interesting interview.. concise yet gets to the answers quickly... Words of Wisdom here for any new student to dance in any genre but of course I have to love the ''Classical Ballet is really the foundation of all dance & simply Life and you can always spot someone down the street who has had some classical training in their life'' ... True but so are all his words about tap and timing ... etc etc.. being the ''Can Do'' understudy even when a tad unsure... Wonderful resource for students!

In each generation there is an outstanding male dancer, Nureyev, Barishnikov, Dowell. For me Steven is the name for his generation. He is an inspiration to so many young dancers and is a phenomenal dancer.
