@@dyanaprajna4556 I did body a steve at lower ranks as Sonic. Was a rather stressful match though for me. And prob not nearly as stressful for him, even losing. Cause the way Steve has that stun lock on hit, and how light Sonic is, I needed to basically play extremely careful on my timings and try to mix up my use of air moves due to that stupid magma cube blocking the approach for a lot of easy hit moves like homing attack.

Steve as a smash character is like one of those jokes in elementary school that was funny at first but after the 1000th time is just annoying

honestly even tho he has way to many techs I will always love how they added steve into smash as a character. I told a few friends Steve could've been much worse if he had his armors and add the other new material also his bow and arrows. Can you imagine Steve living longer due to armors and giving super armor or tough guy because of diamond.

The person who wins has to SD at the start or something and if you win multiple times you have to SD twice I think, so yeah, could be that

I noticed a ton of occasions where Steves (in THIS video) did the phantom no-hit-stun tech thing. 1:32 Steve was over 100% this should have been certain death. He did the ghost block thing right before engaging, knowing full well that he could ‘get out of it’ whereas that sort of shenanigan would have killed any other character.

He is Steve, simply, STEVE... but nevertheless, that is what makes him great, HE IS SIMPLE BUT POWERFUL. He's a guy who doesn't need to be "cool" in appearance to show how Gigachad and tough his fists and blocks are (and... something else. >:) )... he proved to be GOD in this game. That is the result of cutting down, digging, even sometimes mining with your bare hands, fighting against mountros, even if you don't win anything... even CARRYING HUNDREDS OF STONE BLOCKS OR EVEN GOLD, being poisoned, shot by arrows WITHOUT DIE INSTANTLY, be cursed, go hungry, be chased by ghosts, you can be INFINITELY SLEEPLESS IF YOU WANT, SWIM LIKE THE SEA GOD, SURVIVE LAVA IF YOU ARE PREPARED and many other things that a normal being would not even dream of facing. Steve trained for 11 years by that point (and still does), to enter Smash Bros. Ultimate in 2020... and he was more than ready. HE'S JUST, STEVE.

I despise Steve as a character but seeing this shit just makes me laugh. From all the almost 90 characters, legends from all different games, villains and heroes, MINECRAFT STEVE just pummels every single one of them. It’s just so ironic.

Yeah, Minecraft characters ARE BLOCKIES MENANCE.

If there's a Smash 6, I think a simple nerf would just be not letting him place blocks mid-air, only letting him pillar/bridge off of the stage or other blocks. It'd remove alot of 0-deaths, remove the tech that got him banned, and nerf gimping people off stage. Tbh I don't even know why he has that in the first place, it's not even possible in Minecraft.

It's ironic how Steve started as a joke, but it was kinda shocking when he actually gets in. He's really faithful to Minecraft's base game too, unleashing all the creativity the player can do with placing blocks and making traps with TNT and anvil. Then by the end of Smash Ultimate's development, people hated him since well, kinda not fun when his gameplan involves hiding in safety behind walls as he mines and with one of the best edgeguard abilities in the game. Now with Phantom MLG discovered, he's just straight banned. No matchup knowledge or counterplay changes the fact Steve can simply deny combos and rather combo YOU instead.

@@EmperorPenguin1217 I think the main reason why the technique hasn't been seen much is, aside from being discovered about a month ago, Steve was pretty much immediately banned in most notable tournaments once PMLG came out. Either tournaments would try to ban and moderate the technique itself, which is an issue to try doing (like how to identify it, rewatching about every match to make certain, the punishment, and what if the accusation is false), or Steve's outright banned to not have to bother with the tactic in the first place.

What if someone used the Steve tech in a tournament and they gotta sd a stock or 2🤔

You can SDI out of it with most characters so it’s not true in that case, though the Steve still has initiative and can mix up their approach. Spacies though (Fox especially) can’t really get out of it at low percents, so they have to be very careful not to let the jab train roll.
