I see Steve has a Switchblade for switching his pedal in the rack just below all those Synergy modules on a shelf.He's got an Eventide 9000 as well,sitting on top of the rack with the Synergy modules.

I take it the handle is for either really small hands or for using two fingers of a regular sized hand. I was hoping for a tremolo on the headstock and behind the bridge pickup for a "double whammy" experience.

Love this guitar. Especially in green and yellow.

I know people aren't going to buy this for the clean tones, but it would be nice to hear what it sounds like without tons of distortion and effects.

The JEMS sounded great in clean tone, I guarantee this will sound even more pristine with these new pickups.

Glad Ibanez realized that Stainless Steel frets are a deal breaker to many high end guitar buyers

there should be a JEM or PIA model with the fernandez sustainiac included

i only have one question..why not soldering a treble bleed on the volume pot instead of geting a push pull pot? it would have been mmuch easier..

So what are the price range of these beautiful guitars? can you buy these guitars direct from Ibanez?

I have two JEMs and the only way I am getting a third is if it has a sustainer. Just like my Schecters!!

Ok so I can get double the holes in my RG now, but is there any guarantee you won't come out with one with 3 holes later? I may wait.

Whats with the paint runs on that pink model? I thought I was seeing things with the white one in another video, but its on this one too?

How does the removable backplate affect string change? With a Floyd Rose or Edge Tremolo, you have to clip the ball end off and clamp in via the top of the bridge. Cool guitar though.

Because you always have to adjust the spring tension, and at least block the bridge during a string change and it’s a huge pita if you have a cover on. Most people just leave them off

What a great guy. It would be awesome to have a guitar company behind you. I build guitars, buy inexpensive ones chop them up to build my bastards. I'm envious Steve.

It’s a cool axe, I would have prefered a bit more roundness like the handpainted bodies ones he used for a while, the top looks a bit like the EX series now, which is a kinda cheap series and the bottom horn seems unchanged. They probably didn’t want to go too far into AZ territory, understandbly Vai has to have his own. Colors are awesome and a cool nod to the past

I really love this new guitar. Green one please, but wiht a pearl pick-guard, or a white one, cos the white with gold hardware is porn. Love the yin/yang design, very Steve/Vai. ZOMG, man-crush !!

It seems like some early chinese copies of the JEM. And by the way, does he have the springs set covered with tissues for some reason? Prototipe? Steve vai should be using first lo pro edge on all guitars, isnt he?

Oscar Barquin Caloca it keeps the guitar a lot quieter cause the tissues dampen the springs in the back which are supposedly heard by the pickups

the scalloped top frets are a regular feature on Steve's guitars. And you can just customize yours with a Sustainiac

@ Why should I have to customize it? Do you know what a bitch of a mod that is? You'll need route out an extra cavity to fit the controllers. That's what he has had done to the green one. Blows my mind that after 30 years of Steve Himself playing guitars sustainer mod'ed guitars we still can't buy an Ibanez JEM with a sustainer.
