"no whammy bar, homie don't play" hahahahah love it
Thank you Steve for such a great-cool-awsome-sounding and playing guitar.
just bought a ibanez jem7v7 ,.. super awsum ! thank u steve vai for d wonderful design of ur guitars ,... Respect !
What a humble guy Steve Vai is, if the interviewer had meet Yngwie he wouldn't be able to keep his job any longer
I've played the jem for 24 yrs. Steve ! Since 1989 ! ( as well as Fender and Gibson's etc. ) But my preference is without a doubt, a super-strat called Jem !
Hey, the ones that Vai and most other touring artist use are made by Ultracase. The two that are shown here are the GSX-8 model, they're pretty pricey though. Depending on what you need it for I'd recommend the Stagg GDC-8- it's the same idea but a forth of the price.
part 4!!!
I guess Flo and Xavia are sisters, they both are JEM 7V's and they each have a fernandes sustainer installed
have ya tried the three tone controls gives more variation tonally
at some point les paul took his name off the model for some reason or another. I've also heard that he didn't really contribute alot to the design. but who knows? both are great guitars.
I'll lend you her if you're in the area !
Sustainer on the sfg.. wish that was factory 😁
Do you live in northern jersey??
Old Les Pauls have the whammy, but I feel you.
would be cool if Steve would've made the gravity storm guitar a Jem instead of a strat. a Jem with single coils. the world needs it. Steve just outright looks weird playing anything other than a Jem. a single coil Jem would be bad ass!!!!

I think Steve is exaggerating the various design aspects of the Jem as being 'first'. Jackson, ESP and others were doing the double locking trem - super strat thing way before the Jem was launched. I'm not even sure that the JEM was the first to have a back routing for a recessed Floyd style bridge, but maybe. First with double humbucker - single coil pickup configuration? Really? But I do love Jems, I still own the 1989 Jem 777DY I bought back then!!

The Jem was not the first guitar with a locking system. If what I was saying sounds like I was pointing it out as the first, I was remiss. The Floyd Rose locking trem was the first and it was out long before the Jem came around. But as far as I know, the Jem was the first guitar to have a true floating bridge with that kind of interval leap.
Steve, my name is Julian too!!! hahaha :p
