Steve's playing became a lot better and clear than his last Purple days, and he seems happy.

Thank you for recording these shows.. I'm a new Steve Morse fan.. started checking out his work only recently and these shows are pure gold; despite the unfortunate sound quality, it is still enjoyable and awesome to see Mr. Morse and band play live. I don't know if he's ever going to tour India in the future, so this is as close as it can get for me to see him live :)

I remember when Steve put this band together. I believe that they made some kind of deal where Dave and Van agreed to help Steve pay off some his debt from the Dregs. Steve saw they they wanted to play, so they set up in the Atlanta Community Center and started just jamming at a slow tempo in E . I think that I remember that jam becoming "Power Rising" ! I have to admit that I was skeptical about the band ! I mean they started out really bad. Steve had been playing that loop show. However, shortly after that they played at the Fox in front of George Thoroughgood where they dropped the curtain on them for being to loud and rocking too hard. It just shows what you can do with a lot of hard work! It is a wonder that they are not all as deaf as Beethoven. I remember when Steve first came to Atlanta . All the other guitarists were jealous and thought that Steve was a smart ass and didn't especially like him.At the time I was living next door to Duane ,drinking whiskey and playing the Blues. I think I remember Steve coming up the stairs with his guitar as I was going down. I am glad to see the band back and sounding just as good. And I hope that Steve has things worked out from being the superstar that he wanted to be. When is Steve going to write some new material ?

I understand - you should have (or not) heard it before I tweaked it a little. When The Dregs played this venue in 2018, it was BY FAR the worst sound of the 3 times I saw them that week. That said, I think the sound was better this time than it was in 2018 and I was surprised I was allowed to get anything at this venue. Last time security was running around stopping any recording including phones. I would have brought better equipment had I known they'd be lenient this time. Thanks for giving it a go.

@@djjdevosWasAtTheShow, I've only been to the Ridgefield theater once, to see Ry Cooder a few years ago, and the sound was very good for that show. Perhaps their in-house sound system just doesn't work very well for loud rock or progressive/fusion?

It's not that bad. EQ the highs down a bit and posibly compress it a bit. @@djjdevosWasAtTheShow

Drummer Van Romaine has been playing with Steve for years, but I tend to agree that he's just a basic basher. I have seen the original Dregs and the Steve Morse band many times, and Van Romaine isn't fit to carry Rod Morgansteins drumsticks!
