@Beowulf1005 Indeed, it does! Haven't heard this track since I was a kid when Mtv was cool and ACTUALLY aired NOTHING BUT VIDEOS 24/7. I clearly remember when Mtv launched and they rotated the same 10 videos every hour on the hour... and when they played certain popular videos, it would be played pretty much the same time each day. Like, I Love Rock and Roll and Eye of the Tiger always played around 7:20ish and 7:10ish (respectively) every weekday morning. I remember this becos I'd be waiting for my dad to drop me off at elementary school. Damn... am I feeling my childhood nostalgia!!!

You're not wrong! 😂 Everyone was experimenting and trying to craft the ultimate "art" video to go with the music. Most of the time it was just cringe, but sometimes it would work out brilliantly. ( Not often, mind you, lol.)

The video graphics are pretty sophisticated for the time. This song was a real departure from the Steve Miller of the 70s -- a real early 80s "crossover" hit.

I was 11 years old when this song came out and it was my favorite song! I still get excited when I hear it. You are right it's fun and catchy! You should try some Billy Ocean. He was very popular in the 80's. He had a song "Loverboy" that also had the laser effect sound in it like this one. Music was so much fun in the 80's!

You arre appraising this properly. One of the all-time great HeadPhone songs!! LOVE this song ... I get the feeling you would love their "Book of Dreams" album - many headphone songs there as well

This was the first song I called “my favorite song” when I was 4 years old. My parents got me the record single for it for Xmas that year. (The B side is “Baby want to dance with me”)

This band was not inducted to the HOF in 2016, but Steve Miller was. He used his mic time to actually shred the HOF. Calling them "fucked up, inbred, and off course"
