I have never once seen anyone tune, their snare drum like this and I know what I am about to go do ha ha. Sounds incredible.
Great video...a must for all drummers.
I could listen to Steve talk, or play, 8 hours a day, 7 days a week. It's one thing to have all his knowledge, but something else altogether to be able to get it over in such a listenable way.

turnitback Thanks for the kind words! Steve
I love this. Boring to some people maybe but this is drum shop 101 and I've experienced a lot of what you are talking about here.
Great information Steve! Learned some cool things. You're an awesome dude! Cheers, DC
GOLD! many thanks Steve top man top drummer !
Wow, I learned a lot today from watching these videos. Thanks for recording this and sharing!
Another great video Steve !
Awesome!! Thanks alot for the information.
Lovin' it!
Great video, really enjoyed it. Made me panic though with the $16,000 drum - put your coffee down before you carry it, please! I envisaged a comedic moment of epic proportions right there, but with nobody laughing.
+stevemaxwelldrums *Does the new Rogers Drums have any fiberglass snare drums planned for production?* And what snare bed dimensions do the Dyna-Sonics use for compatibility with the snare frames? I'm used to the "no-buzz" response of guts; but session drummers may want carbon or stainless snappies or even the Grover® wrapped-piano-wire snares (bronze, nickel and/or silver depending on tone class).
So you really just did one full turn on the bottom? Wow!
I have 2 questions in regard to fiberglass shells . What's the best heads to use and the best tensioning for batter and resonance heads.
The only things missing, for me, maybe a nice cigar and a cocktail...
