I wonder if people like Steve watch YT videos about themselves. Or read the comments. I've never met anyone of note. Im not sure how i would react if i did. I know they are just human like the rest of us. Yet if i could have lunch with anyone. I'd love to sit down with Steve, Jim, Will and the late Robin. Not to share jokes . But to share personal philosophies, insight and perspectives. Im not sure how they feel about each other. However that would just make it more interesting.

When I was a little boy I used to see Steve Martin working at the Magic Shop at Disneyland while my Dad worked at the Mad Hatter .We both went to Garden Grove Unified School District and he was a big hit around Orange County . Steve stole most of his bits from a comedian at the Golden Horse shoe review at Disneyland. I am somehow related to him a hundred years ago as our relatives lived in the same small town in Texas .I look just like him and people ask me for my autograph all the time especially children when the Pink Panther came out. I was an electrician on the movie called the Three Amigos and people kept thinking I got the job because I was somehow related to Steve Martin and I had to tell people even John Landis that we don`t know each other and I met Steve and Martin Short and Martin Short asked me if I could act and told Steve he had better watch out but I don`t think Steve thought it was all that funny but he was nice to me anyway and every time I think about it I think it could have been worse I could look like someone everyone hates.

No mention of the plethora of small clubs and coffee houses he appeared at like the Prison of Socrates in Balboa; the Golden Bear in Huntington Beach; the Pasadena Ice House when it was a music cabaret during tghe 1960s and early 70s; and Coffee and Confusion in North Beach in San Francisco? Who wrote this? Nick and Mike Campbell, who contributed footage to the making of this documentary.

Thank you for the video. Minimizing the influence of his films with Carl Reiner (including All of Me) is kindasorta vague. His turns as Inspector Clouseau and in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels were extraordinary as well. Good job otherwise :)

The Steep Canyon Rangers were a full fledged band before Steve met them in Brevard, NC. Steve joined the group and took it to a new level. I photographed the SCRs at Merlefest in 2008, before they met Steve. Steve is NOT a "Founding Member".

You have a few things mixed up here , some in chronology, some in information. This might have been just an editing slip up, but it's odd that you include in the visuals a clip from All of Me, while the narration states "they made several funny but forgettable movies together" - implying "All of Me" as one of those. A greater inaccuracy is including "Pennies from Heaven" in that group which was neither a comedy nor forgettable - but rather showed Martin as someone interested in stretching himself and finding challenging material - learning how to tap dance in the process. "Pennies from Heaven" was not directed by Carl Reiner but rather Herbert Ross. This whole piece is more surface information. It would be nice to see a deeper dive into the complex person he is.

Maybe he was born while his mother was in a squatting position and he came out backwards with legs first, then he was born standing up.
