I love him & who wouldn’t ? He’s very humble -and laugh out loud funny. Talented is the understatement. Singer, songwriter, guitar genius and a sense of compassion and not wanting to upset anyone or throw anyone under the bus. Luke is a true treasure and you are blessed to be able to call him friend. I love listening to his interviews, guaranteed to learn more than I did about the music business and definitely laugh. We all need a Luke in our life ❤️

I can’t help but think of MJ’s Beat it. Steve wrote the riff and toto were the main musicians on Thriller. I’ve loved his playing since the solo on Hold the line. He deserves more acknowledgement of his talent.

Love that solo. It's one of the best out there. That solo got me into metal, as well!

Steve didn't write the riff to beat it. In Steve's own words Michael Jackson wrote the riff and Steve had it handed to him on the demo by Quincy Jones and Steve re-recorded it. Toto were the 'house band' on thriller. Steve and Toto wrote a lot of riffs and melodies on many of the records they did sessions on but they never got the credit for.

read his bio...insane life...the entire TOTO story is EPIC...truly...from their dads to sons, all starting so early, Jeff w Sonny & Cher to Steely Dan, Luke with TOTO and then the sessions galore...totally insane careers. Gifted talent...Luke sounds so young here...congrads Steve! Blessings in honor of your mom & dad...and the Porcaro family!

All I can say is that I have total respect for for Steve he is such an honest and nice guy I met him several years back when toto played in Sydney Australia I was in the green room with them and I managed to get Steve to allow my Guitar teacher Junichi West into the room as Junichi is one of his biggest fans. He was humble and a very nice guy he has been through ups and downs but all I can say is being in the top 10 or the latest thing is just marketing hype at least Steve keeps it real and personal.

You have to be friends in the industry and that is something Luke values most. His friendship with Landau. Paich, Jeff, Mike and Steve Porcaro and artists who he has had the pleasure of working with over the years. I love that Luke has nothing Ill or hateful to say about anyone. And if he does , he keeps it to himself. We need more humble musicians like Luke. He never forgot where he came from and didn't let being famous wreck him.

I wish Luke could see the zoom picture I took of Michael Landau and Joni Mitchell on stage at the Sydney Opera House 1983. I only learned about Mr. Landau because Luke mentions him in many videos. It is amazing that Luke and Ringo are now buddies!

My Luke 2 PDN came with Stainless Steel Frets. To be honest, it makes no difference compared to my other Lukes.

Craig Shoosmith the main advantage is that stainless steel frets last life time. Nickel/copper regular frets are easier to work with so it’s way cheaper for guitar makers but they last 7/10 years and require expensive refret jobs.

Stainless Steel stainless steel frets still do wear over time and not as evenly as nickel. Also they are harder metal so are more difficult to recrown. Guitar techs tent to loathe them. Like I said though, sound/feel wise there is no real difference.

I also have a Luke 3 PDN with Stainless Steel frets. Can confirm that the difference is negligible and that SS frets still DO wear.
