I think Steve Lawrence was often underrated. He had a clean, beautiful voice.

To be honest, I don't think I ever even heard of him, but hearing him sing this--and a song like "I've Got to be Me"--I thought I was listening to Frank Sinatra! 😃

Steve Lawrence has always been my favourite singer. I am a 79 y.o. male and I have cherished his singing for 60 years. Steve Lawrence is the best singer that I have heard

Old s t e r s know what music was beautiful music beautiful words and they still use these songs for commercials pretty blue eyes the old crowd Lesley Gore go listen to that one again do yourself a favor and go listen to Lesley Gore the old crowd. We are lucky we have many friends that we've had for 70 years speaking for myself I have one for 73 years and all these beautiful songs from the 40s 50s 60s kick us all in touch with memories to hold dear forever you sure and I can't find that in any of the music that what they call music nowadays a good song like the land That Time Forgot by Kelly seek that and it will fit right in with all your 50s 60s thank you for your post

I loved his personality and great looks besides his talent, voice on stage!

See him in Malibu Often he is a neighbor. One of the nicest souls one can ever meet. As is his wife Edie. One of the greatest singers that has ever lived.

Steve was an all-around performer with good looks and a wonderful singing voice! Sing on forever Steve wherever you are!

And it's a live version, Steve was too good to Lyp Synck (mouthing the words) because he and Eydie Gorme were from an era that we will never see again Ever Period!!!!!!!!!!

How can't you love Steve Lawrence.

Steve Lawrence was simply put THE BEST. He beats them all in my view. Yes I said it.. His voice control, projection, range, crisp diction, smooth effortless delivery and ability to project proper emotional content is in a class by itself. He always holds the note strong, no rasp, cracks or drop off. The only other American male vocalist I have there in that category is Johnny Mathis another superb vocalist from that era. That's it. Steve Lawrence had it all.

I'm also from NJ (originally), and while working in Manhattan, I had the chance to see them both perform - it was AMAZING. I've been a huge fan of Eydie Gormé since childhood, so seeing her live was a dream come true. But I must say, Steve brought the house down with a performance of a Yiddish song. The audience erupted in response.

One of the great American popular singers. And do not call him a "crooner." This is a rich, powerful high baritone. I'm sure that in his prime (perhaps even now), Steve could sing in a fairly big theater without a microphone; and everyone in the audience would hear him clearly

John Coyle: I'm 84 at this time... and like you 4 years ago, I feel the same feelings. I love Steve Lawrence's impeccable performance on stage- handsome, smiling and at ease on stage, glowing at his best. Indeed, to me he is the full package. Many of the songs such as this, I prefer him over Sinatra, Bennett, and other singers. I've seem and enjoyed many of his shows. Great entertainer. Salute!
