Steve is absolutely right! I was always the girl who had more male friends than female friends. I can guarantee that if I gave the „vibe“ that I would want more than friendship they would pounce! The moment my so called friend got me alone, he tried something on me and the guy has a girlfriend! I don’t trust any man as a „friend“, single, married or in a relationship because that doesn’t mean anything to them.

I wouldn’t stop being friends with my straight male friends but I would limit our interactions out of respect for my relationship. I would expect my partner to do the same. If that simple concept is hard to understand then they’re too immature to be friends with you in the first place.

I’m married. I have friends that are married. I got cousins who are married. We all have friends that are women that we absolutely have no hopes/intentions of being romantically involved with. Anyone saying “all men or all women” is automatically wrong because you can’t speak for everyone.

He’s talking about the majority. There’s a difference between friends and associates. Associates are people you may talk to once or twice a month, don’t see often. Friends are people you talk to way more frequently and see very often. Of course we all have women associates, but friends? As in talking and hanging out FREQUENTLY? Someone is 99% gonna develop attraction, that’s just human nature.

She's beautiful so obviously I wanted to have sex with her at the beginning but when that didn't happen I became super close with her. never remotely had an intention to have sex with her ever after the first 2,3 time we met. shit even the thought of it feels super weird now

I am neutral about this but Steve has a point. A lot of my male "friends" from high school have admitted to either having a crush on me or wanting to sleep with me. Granted, it's high school and hormones are fucked up but if young teenagers/adults already know what to do to keep a girl around long enough to be with them, that same logic probably carries on to adulthood. Once again though, everybody is different :)

I will say, it's alot easier to be just friends with a female after you've already slept with them.

Steve just doesn't have self control and doesn't want to put himself in a position to cheat on his wife maybe most men think like that but not all.

I’m on the fence on this I have straight friends that are guys who I would never date or fuck, but I have some I would A lot of people tend to approach people they find attractive and some people find out they are more compatible as friends than anything else But I also tend to stick to making guy friends who are already in relationships cause I either already knew their gf or I give benefit of the doubt that they’re a faithful partner and that’s the furtherest thing from their mind One of best friends was a older man who had no interest whatsoever in me and I became beat friends with his gf more than him I think it depends on how people feel about blurring that friendship line into intimacy if the opportunity presents itself Some people are not willing to mess up a good friendship just to smash

Who’s on the phone for hours lmao? I just get lunch or do an activity like mini golfing or badminton every couple months where we talk about our jobs, current events, what’s going on in our lives mixed in with some random ass shit about aliens or alternate dimensions. That’s hardly hours that’s maybe an hour of talking over lunch and then just chilling doing an activity. One of my closest guy friends since high school is in a relationship and we can hang out without pushing any boundaries. Not all guys are in it for sex or a relationship sometimes you’re just the homie.

This topic always blows my mind lmao, we are still having this conversation? I find it extremely hard to believe that guys find every girl they get along with smashable 🥴 I do believe that you can find any of your friends to be 'attractive' (I am including *all* genders so this includes men and their guy friends too). It would be strange if they weren't appealing in some way. But, I don't think that attraction is strictly limited to the physical, so that's why this topic makes me confused. I think this just boils down to societal conditioning telling us that men somehow have no self-control and that they all must have ulterior motives. They "don't have self-control" because society allows guys to get away with the most. My girl stayed friends with some dude..... told me she smoked with him regularly cuz she had no friends. She'd pick em up drunk from parties. He'd facetime call at hella night and she'd never pick up cuz she thought he was just drunk. I thought he was grandfathered in. I never met the dude. Turned out they had smashed before she met me and had basically dumped her for his ex....... I bounced so fucking fast dude. That was some fucked up shit. Agreed. As a woman I don’t have close male friends now because at some point my old male friends tried getting at me even if they had girlfriends. The only true male friends I had were gay. Now I have male acquaintances like my best friend’s husband and his friends, however, I do know one of his friends finds me attractive so 🤷🏻‍♀️
