ABOUT STEVENAGE FOOTBALL CLUB
Founded in 1976 as Stevenage Borough Football Club, we dropped the 'Borough' from our name in 2010 when we won promotion to the English Football League for the first time in our history, although it's stuck as our nickname!
We currently play in Sky Bet League One, the third tier of English football. Our home games are played at The Lamex Stadium, which has a capacity of 7,800 supporters. Over the years, we have achieved a lot in our relatively short history: including 2 FA Trophies, 2 Conference National titles, a League Two Play-Off Trophy & automatic promotion to League One in 2023.
We have also knocked out Premier League Newcastle United & Aston Villa of the FA Cup in recent years!

1:00 It would've been easy for heads to drop in the camp after 6 weeks without a win and dropping out of the play-off places. It's testament to Steve's management and the strength of character of the players he's gathered together (and by extension the quality of the recruitment) that they were able to stick together and battle back from going behind (particularly after missing a few chances prior to conceding the opener). It was an excellent display for large parts of the second half and a good job to hang on under siege in the final 10 minutes or so.
