To be clear the controversy should be that effective damage is what is mainly what is scored by modern scoring criteria. And control time on it's own scores nothing at all, unless all other factors are equal, which they obviously were not. (which is why Rob beat Izzy btw) But since judges so often fail to follow the actual scoring criteria themselves and the UFC rarely talks about them, it's not surprising that most viewers don't know what they are either.

They really need to move from the 10 point system to something similar to ONE FC that scores based on Near-knockout/near-submission, Damage (internal, accumulated, superficial), Striking combinations and cage/ring generalship (ground control and superior positioning), Earned takedowns or takedown defense and Aggression (As per ONE FC's Website)

I'm Brazilian and i do think Pantoja won. I didn't like his performance but he did enough to edge the win. The thing that is absolutely blowing my mind is that people are making this fight sound like Erceg completely destroyed him on the feet. I mean, what? that just didn't happen. The difference is clear on how much more crispier on the feet Erceg looks, but when it comes to actual shots landed it wasn't a massacre as people are saying, it was pretty competitive. And when you see how much Pantoja dominated in the grappling department, that made the difference. Plus, the decision to take Pantoja down in the last round could not have been worse. maybe the visuals of how Pantoja fights made people think Erceg looked better and was clearly winning but Pantoja did enough to win. Erceg's corner agreed

Erceg clearly did the more damage with the elbows and the striking while pantoja didn't do any effective grappling, closest thing he got from finishing the fight is taking erceg's back and only had one hook in and erceg defended everything, pantoja just stayed in positions doing nothing but just sniffed his balls. @@jesusquinonez9294 DAMAGE, mma judging criteria is based on damage my brother. Pantoja just maintained a position and did nothing with it, barely ground and pound and no sub threat, while erceg reversed and got up from all positions. Plus erceg hurt him on the feet waaaayyy worse than pantoja hurt him. If you cannot threaten to finish the fight while in grappling positions, that means that its not effective grappling, erceg was close to finishing the fight (with elbows...) and pantoja survived just because he was tough and could take shots. Are there certain subtle things you notice before you swarm an opponent for a finish? (Reference, I noticed from watching the Cannonier and Gastelum fights you had a sense for when your headkick got through their defenses before you advanced, and even though the commentary team is ringside, they still can't tell accurately what the biggest shots are.)

I have no bias for one or the other, just wanted a good fight. Which is what we got last night for the belt, good fight. The right person won the fight, Erceg showed he has championship heart. Had Erceg not went for that takedown in the 5th round, I would have said he won that last round. But him getting reversed and controlled for the last 90 seconds of the 5th round. the controversy comes from the lack of consistency in the implementation of the scoring criteria. If control time was deemed important according to the scoring criteria, no one would have a problem. Damage trumps all. Control time only matters if everything else is dead even (which it was not). 3-2 Erceg or 4-1 Erceg. Pantoja could only realistically get round 1 and 3 (3 being a swing round). 5 was close but pantoja didnt do much with the control time and the takedowns were actually ercegs takedowns. Also Ercegs cutting elbow in the 5th seals round 5.

I've asked this question before, but I forgot an important part. So, I'll ask it again. ROB! Are you going to play No Rest for the Wicked? It's a Souls like game, but done as a Diablo style ARPG. It plays like a Souls game, VERY punishing and based on the weapon you use more than anything else. But it's a top down, Diablo style view and has loot like a Diablo game. If it's somehow flying under your radar, GIVE IT A CRACK!

Jose Aldo is stupid fast for a 37 year old bantamweight. I think he could beat Chito again, if they fought tomorrow. What a legend. I work Sunday mornings, so I’m loving this new time slot for the show! Not to mention, I feel like you beat everyone else to the punch.

I hate seeing all this argument for control time. Damage is the number one criteria that is to be judged before anything else. That is literally just how the current set of rules say fights need to be judged. Damage above all. Damage decides fights. I get why people would want control to be worth more, but it isn't weighted the same under the current rules if you don't do something with it (i.e. damage or sub attempts). Control time and takedowns only come into play if there was no clear damage done to one fighter over over the other. Competitive fight, but because of the damage done and sig strikes landed, this was not in any way close. Clear robbery.

18:24 to clear the confusion. Jose himself said that he was offered a fight on the Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson card. He still had one fight remaining on his UFC contract which means he would have to bring the boxing contract to the UFC and they would have to approve of it and probably even take a cut. I think the UFC doesn’t like when contracted fighters box. That was one of the issues Francis had with the UFC.

As an Aussie myself this is how I saw the fight. Pantoja had the obvious advantage in wrestling BUT their grappling was pretty even. So I think the Narrative of Pantoja "lay and praying" is false. He was not just throwing takedowns and laying, he was actually advancing on the ground. Except for the fact that Erceg being a high level grappler defended intelligently. So the question I think is if your opponent defends grappling very well does it mean that your own grappling is ineffective? If thats really the case then Islam definitely shouldve lost to Volk the first time right. That being said I thought Pantoja won. He pushed the pace the entire fight, he got 8 takedowns to 1, the sig strike differential wasnt huge in favour of Erceg. And if you argue damage look at Ercegs face at the end he got hit alot aswell. So 3-2 to Pantoja is fair. Still proud of Erceg he gave Pantoja a bloody tough fight.

I wonder if part of the reason people seem to drop off before the viewer questions is because more people are here for the mma content vs the game content, and they just don't hang around for the gamer content? That is my take at least, but I am not a gamer so maybe I'm wrong. I know some (gamers) will certainly think I'm wrong lol. Maybe separate viewer question sections is the answer? I don't hop over to viewer questions because I figure a good portion of them are game related. If there was a non gamer question section I would watch it, I just don't want to wade through questions I neither understand nor care to understand. I don't hate games or gamers, I've just never had much interest in video games plus I'm in my upper 50s. 😉
