I think Stan would be proud of Steve Coogan's work as the silent film legend, growing up I watched the Laurel and Hardy films with my grandad and to this day he asks me about and we just talk about these iconic and era changing men. I wish I could thank them for bringing in both me and my grandad's lives from two different generations.

Ollie originally worked in construction at Hal Roach Studios when he was personally spotted by Stan! Stan had just come to Hollywood from England and found it hard to work alone on pictures so Hal Roach told Stan he'd find him some acting partners! Jerry Lewis said that when Stan and Ollie first met in Hal Roach's office Stan said to Ollie "How would you like to be in show business?" And Ollie said "Well it's gotta be better than what they're paying me for this!!!" Even though Ollie seemed more like the straight guy in the act, Stan was actually more less Ollie's boss because he knew more what he was doing! Ollie wasn't always dedicated to the work and would often skip out and play golf while Stan stayed at the studio and wrote the scripts, and did all the work! He would often have to use stand ins for rehearsals but when filming time came, Stan would simply inform Ollie where to stand on set and Ollie never missed his mark!

Where I live, it only played at one small arthouse theater a few towns over, and it was gone after like three weeks. I didn't even know it was playing there until it was too late, and I was so miffed about missing it. I watched it at home last week, and loved every second of it.

I ended up buying it on-line. It is one of the few that I own like that, also I bought "Foyle's War" that way....
