The look of joy on Conan's face when Steve transforms into Stan is genuine ♥️
How Coogan and Reily didn't get an oscar for Stan and Ollie, it will always baffle me no matter what!

It gets even more stupid when you realize that the lineup included 4 performances in biopics and only one of them (Dafoe) was worthy of a nomination.

I firmly believe that Coogan is one of the great creative comedic minds of his generation.
Coogan is a treasure. Stan & Ollie truly was brilliant. It managed to be whimsical but still portray their relationship in a very real way.
I love Steve Coogan. He takes impressions to another level. Like Conan says, it's like he becomes the person.
I think Coogan deserved oscar for portraying Stan Laurel

He truly became Stan laurel. Fantastic portrayal.
I think Stan would be proud of Steve Coogan's work as the silent film legend, growing up I watched the Laurel and Hardy films with my grandad and to this day he asks me about and we just talk about these iconic and era changing men. I wish I could thank them for bringing in both me and my grandad's lives from two different generations.
Their performances were both 10/10. I hope whoever did the casting for this movie got a raise!
Nobody else on this planet could have recreated Stan Laurels mannerisms so well. Ah haa
Finally got a chance to see this film, which has been on my list for a while. Wow, talk about am emotional gut punch! Great job by Steve Coogan and John C. Reilly as the main characters. They really brought these two characters and real men to life.
Absolutely beautiful movie about Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy. Coogan and Reilly did a fantastic job.
He turned into Laurel in front of my eyes....
I had great fortune to meet Stan in Santa Monica in 1964. A genuinely kind man. Steve does an excellent portrayal too!
Loved the film, doesn't get as much attention as it deserves.

I'm guilty if watching some of those comic book movies, but it does not get any better that great actors doing what they do and not using green screen and cgi, just a good story, real if possible and good acting, it's been awhile since I've seen that.

Both performances deserved oscars, it wasn’t acting, they became laurel and hardy. Bravo
When this film was first announced many thought it would be a flop but boy did they take back what they said as a fan of laurel and hardy I gave the film a go and must say a great film and a great tribute to the greatest comedy duo ever
That hand grab at the end. That's the power of acting, the truth in the moment. Coogan is super talented.
Ollie originally worked in construction at Hal Roach Studios when he was personally spotted by Stan! Stan had just come to Hollywood from England and found it hard to work alone on pictures so Hal Roach told Stan he'd find him some acting partners! Jerry Lewis said that when Stan and Ollie first met in Hal Roach's office Stan said to Ollie "How would you like to be in show business?" And Ollie said "Well it's gotta be better than what they're paying me for this!!!" Even though Ollie seemed more like the straight guy in the act, Stan was actually more less Ollie's boss because he knew more what he was doing! Ollie wasn't always dedicated to the work and would often skip out and play golf while Stan stayed at the studio and wrote the scripts, and did all the work! He would often have to use stand ins for rehearsals but when filming time came, Stan would simply inform Ollie where to stand on set and Ollie never missed his mark!
Very sweet. Steve and Conan fell in love in the end.
God Steve Coogan is incredibly talented. Not sure he gets quite the credit he deserves.
I didn’t see Stan & Ollie advertised we just winged it at the cinema one night and it was a fantastic surprise. One of the best films I’ve seen in recent memory.
The pathos of the last gesture just sums up the warm-hearted friendliness of the Laurel and Hardy message.
Loved that movie and love Laurel and Hardy, Steve and John did a great performance.
Stan & Ollie is a fantastic movie. Saw it last year and both actors did a incredibly good performance in it
That was probably one of the most beautiful movies ever made.

It is a great movie. My wife, who isn't a L&H fan, really liked it because it was about the two men and not their characters on the screen. The movie brought them to life and regular people. You could relate to them.
Can’t help but love the Cooges. Effortlessly funny and charming
Alan Partridge is one of the best characters ever created and Coogan was the perfect actor for the role.
Watched it last night, it was soo good.
Coogan gets me every time.
Great movie thank you for making it. Watched it many times.
i just realized how close his voice is to Mr Laurel
Mr. Coogan really did an incredible performance, perfectly replicating Stan's mannerisms and voice. In some ways even more impressive was John C. Reilly's portrayal of Oliver Hardy. Their movie they did was a wonderful tribute to two true comedy legends.

I love blood guts and horror. But I loved this film I had a soppy smile on my face all the way through. Been a life long fan.
Loved this, Conan; I too love the comedy classics, including Oliver and Hardy, despite my young age. 😊 Coogan's voice and impressions of Stan Laurel were spot on.

He quite literally becomes Stan Laurel. Imperceptibly. Pure genius
Steve Coogan is a living legend. And kudos to Conan for getting rid of the desk. This format is much better and intimate.
@embracethemystery

good point! that stupid desk prop goes a long way back to Jack Paar, Steve Allen and probably earlier. "don't mess with the formula" some uncreative, nameless exec has said over and over throughout the years. Dave Letterman always had his chair much higher than his guests too, besides manspreading his crotch in their face. Funny and sad.
The Trip to Greece is out soon too. Good times.
More! More! Two delightful men!
Genius!
Great movie, 2 great actors 👏🏻
93% on Rotten Tomatoes. With all the crap the film industry throws out at people, this restores some of my faith in the art form.

A couple of my co-workers are old enough to catch it when I do that pursed-lip nod at 1:39. I'm amazed that I've had to explain who Laurel and Hardy were to a couple of "kids" -- yeah, "OK, Boomer", I get it -- and both times, the response was, "They were before me." Well, they were before me, too, but I know who they were. How can you not have your hand on the pulse of classic entertainment and not know who they were? "Now, I share a birthday with Harold Lloyd ... do you know who that was?"
No Conan please you have a long career ahead of you, you're still by far the best out there, whether it's sketches, conan without borders, or your interviews (maybe bring back clueless gamer pls) nobody does it as good as you!

You can see Stan himself doing this great trick in the films Towed in a Hole and Bonnie Scotland.
