The reason this keeps happening is because it is a minor offense in NY and people know they won't go to prison for it. Give them mandatory prison of at least 1 year for starters. More years based on the injuries to the victim.

Brian Buckmire admits that he choses to ignore reality and to follow sentiments. That is just absurd. If crime is down then crime is down. The news just reports more crimes then usual, but that doesn't mean that there is more crime.
