Steve and Eydie were both consumate performers and entertainers, but I think what endeared them to their loyal audiences (beyond the wonderful singing voices), was the obvious love and joy they shared onstage...you cant really fake something like that...the audience knew they were seeing a true love story play out over all the decades as they performed year after year....

They were a class act, and if Sinatra wanted to work with them that surely proves it. Eydie had a wonderful powerful voice, Steve was marvelous he sounded a lot like FS. Eydie surely will be missed, very sorry for Steve. They are the best of the best right in FS's foot steps eydie is right up there Barbara, Celine, and Whitney if not better

Steve and Eydie. What can one say? Incredible singing talent, and a love that lasted until Eydie passed away (1957-2013). As most of you do, I think that Miss Gorme did not get enough credit for her incredible voice. She was in the running to be Fanny Brice in the stage production of "Funny Girl." I wonder what would have happened if she got the part? Things would have been different, that's for sure.

RIP Steve Lawrence. He and Eydie had an amazing love and life together and they made beautiful music for us all!!! My heart bleeds for all of this generation that is gone. But I'm grateful that I was able to experience it all first hand. I'm a few of the last of a generation that truly appreciates this genre of music. The majority of my generation is seeped into the rock music of the 1970s. Don't get me wrong - there was an amazing amount of music created during that period of time and I'm a huge fan of all of it!! But, I'm also a huge fan of the music created in the generation before and I have an enormous amount of respect for Steve and Eydie and the music that Frank Sinatra created that's become the songbook of America!

In 1959 Steve was still in the Army. He gave a show at Fort Monroe. I was selected to photograph him. Very down-to- earth.

This is great. Do you have any more? You could see how much they adore one another. Especially Steve always looking at her when she sang.

I always loved Steve and Eydie. They were simply - The Best! I first heard of them in 1956 when I was in the 8th grade (do the math). Music is not like this anymore today. And that's sad.
