Bill Maher's huge talent shines brightly already here.
Never heard of or saw anything of this program until just now, when it showed in my KZread feed. Maher may've been at his funniest at that point, but what a crew. And the multi-dimensional Steve Allen was always the best. R.I.P. to all those talents who are no longer with us. Thanks to whoever found this.

This was the best. Paul Williams did his thing and Joe Williams was teriffic. And when Steve conducted everybody with a sustainable note. Melba Moore won by a mile. This was classic for the Disney Channel in 83.
@TGmovier. Thank you very kindly for uploading these 🎼 Musical Treasures of the eighties back to the much needed recognition. And the picture is nicely recorded from a damn good VHS recorded format. Must be Maxell or TDK video cassette. But it's damn good.

As Steve said, some composers should not preform their own songs. In my opinion this includes Steve and Paul Williams.
Paul Williams singing, had as much talent as a toilet seat
Bill maher was just as phony back then and corny
I think Paul Williams is on drugs here, because his performance is so disconnected from the reality of actually singing his song. His diction is totally slurred.
Melba Moore was high on coke. Paul Williams was drunk and joe Williams was hung over. What an awful show
