and the problem is that they are only listening for a while as long as it is popular. good listeners and good music should stick with you music that you can listen to on and on again that is why people are so interested in when x-artist drops a new album, they are already tired of their old shit because it doesn't hold up

i think they were saying they don't discriminate and are open-minded, but then follow that up with the genre or artists they are particularly enjoying the most at the time. i don't think you should judge "most people" or even those two people by the responses in this single youtube video haha.

That kid doesn't kno jack about the hip hop genre. He pointed to an artist who does mainstream crappy rap. Not even something out there like X Clan or Organized Konfusion some serious hip hop. Yeh, people listen to the radio and think they are diverse...NO. Ur diverse if you search for music other than what the radio plays. People are still in the box :(

The idiot that said he believes all music should be free just pissed me off so much. As an artist and producer myself, I know how much money it goes into making quality music especially when you're now coming up. Music equipment isn't cheap, studio time isn't cheap, promotion isn't cheap. How dare you come out and say that someone's product be free? I can empathize with downloading illegally at times because sometimes the content isn't worth paying for. However if the artist put their time into creating content and you actually dig it, you should purchase it regardless of their stature in the music industry at that point.

It was interesting how almost everyone said they listened to "everything", but not one person could think of a non-pop group, nor a non-hip hop artist other than Taylor Swift. I call bullshit on them. Only two individuals mentioned artists that aren't on the radio 24/7. That's disturbing.

For example, almost everyone who said they liked country listed only Taylor Swift as an artist. Also, Taylor Swift is definitely not country anymore. She has become super pop with her music.

I always listen to music a lot. I rap, i sing, i play instruments, it's just what i want to do. I enjoy Hip-Hop (Underground/Independent and some mainstream), Metal, Hardcore, Punk, Alternative, Indie, Jazz, EDM, the list goes on. Artists/Bands in specific: August Burns Red, Common, Foo Fighters, Seahaven, Suffocation, John Coltrane, Bad Religion, etc. I don't know. I'm pretty somewhat diverse .

Im kind of the muddled up guy. Music helps me soo much and i make these connections to certain songs, at the moment im really into heavy metal music at the moment but some days i can go from listening to someone screaming down the mic to drum and bass, then deep rap songs i relate to, soundtracks to games/films/tv shows, a few rave tunes, classic rap and hip hop songs(like eminems crazy days), old school rock, good old rock and roll a few old school songs from the 60s that are remixed and then of course the finest country song made country roads and then a sprinkle of world war songs like "glory glory what a hell of a way to die and a mismatch of random stuff 😄. Im always asking my mates and family for suggestions for artists i should check out and on my free days ill just listen to new songs for hours trying to find some good songs. If your reading this and have and suggestions of not so well known bands id love to hear it 😊✌

My music preference is totally different! I listen to mostly Japanese bands nowadays. However, when I was a teenager I was surronded in an enviroment that would play hip hop and rap music. That was my preference when I was a growing up. During college I converted to being a fan of rock music and began indulging bands of that style. I would find bands either through the radio or KZread (Foofighters, Weezer, Muse, Coldplay, Paramore and many more). Somewhere along the lines, my love for these bands became eclipsed by my passion for Japan. Their music scene is totally different and refreshing. I began to love Japans approach to metal music as well ☺ The only western bands I listen to are a couple symphonic or power metal bands.

Gosh there is so many to recommend but if you are looking for artist that have that amazing voices, singer song writer 5 are Matthew Santos, Alice Smith, Alice Vargas, Phyliscia Ahn (probably didnt spell her name right), VV Brown. ***** Well, "what are you?" is an intellectually bankrupt way of going about it broaching the subject of cultural diversity. Also, being so concerned about "what I am" is a questionable priority in getting to know me. The question "what are you?" is actually at the heart of a new anti-racism commercial on Canadian tv. If you watch it and don't feel embarrassed by the question then you and I don't see eye-to-eye.

pat02537 Well I can say this new aged Pop culture is a joke to the Country genre and it's upsetting that people just accepted it. I'm only 21 but I know for a fact Country wasn't about having a jacked up truck, going mudding and drinking beer 24/7 but apparently the kids think it is now. I'm a fan of Hank Williams, George Jones, The Highwaymen and their solo acts, Merle Haggard, Webb Pierce, Randy Travis. Conway Twitty, Don Williams and so on.
