This is so true. Canon Sterek probably wold have been a disappointment. A lot of canon relationships are. But it would've been nice for the visuals and the acting.

Part of me is hella upset that we never got to see sterek but I also know that Jeff would find a way to make their relationship unhealthy and toxic. Also can we please talk about Braeden? She was such a strong character who could have been a powerful symbol of women's strength but NO we had to put her in a rushed relationship with someone who just had his whole life torn apart and is unstable at best. And don't get me started on Stydia. Lydia was also such a strong and interesting character that should have ended up with someone she didn't share all this unhealthy trauma with. She literally hears dead people and shows signs of PTSD(they all do though), she should spend time figuring out who she is outside of a relationship with anyone and without constant fear playing a role in her decisions.

Honestly the only reason i even watched teen wolf was for sterek and i was so disappointed in the show almostly because of all the dumb decisions and wasted potential that could have easily made it great if only they had the balls to actually do a lot of the stuff they were hinting at in the show but thats what fan-fiction is for i guess.

And i feel like stydia was more of a fanservice (NO shade to the ship ) I enjoy they friendship, actually its my favorite M/F true friendship: Badass besties Lol but their romantic relationship feel kinda forced to me (no shade or hate this is just my respectful opinion) Anyhow Stiles and Derek deserved better and also so grateful that we have at least fanficition 😂😂😂 #sterek forever

I feel like if they were gonna put Stydia together, they should’ve done in season 2 and then have them break up sometime during season 4.

The shades of grey is even a line in the show. I cannot deal with the malice of Scott fans. Sterek deserves so much more than teen wolf and the writers ever gave.

YES YES YES YES, im screaming YES. Thank you for this video. What is frustrating is that Derek and Stiles are characters with depth and a story that provides incredible support for this. But, what is really frustrating is the tips that the show gives us about Stiles' bisexuality and the chemistry he has with Derek, and in the end there is nothing. Just that focus on a shallow story that Scott provides. That is sad.

You're so welcome! And you're exactly right. Scott wasn't really all that interesting of a character. Ever notice that the show started going down hill when we stopped have Stiles and Derek interacting? Scott couldn't carry the humanity and comedic element it needed to survive.

They had incredible chemistry. I feel that Stiles would have brought the best out of Derek. This is my favorite ship of all time. They did them so dirty. I all so think that Poesy was jealous of them getting more attention than him. And that Stidya was forced to me it felt like it. Even Tyler and Dylan them self's said they would play sterek if given the option. And many cast members shipped Sterek including Holland herself.

I love this video and your take. I honestly think the show did Stiles, Derek AND Lydia all dirty by making Stydia end game. Lydia was my favourite of all the female characters, and I really think she was at her best single. Derek and Stiles were at their best together - they made the show worth watching for me :/ Really hoping for more sci-fi/fantasy shows in the future to do LGBTQ couples and to do them right.

They did most of the characters dirty. Lydia shouldn't have needed a boyfriend to help define her as a character. I think I stopped watching when I realized that Hoechlin was starting to pull away from the show, and then ultimately left.

I agree stydia was ridiculous, their endgame moment was rushed, we didn't even get to see them together as a couple for that long. Stiles obsession with Lydia was so unhealthy and so boring to me in the end. Like when they finally made it canon I was like I don't even care about this anymore, s1 - s2 was when i was like yay stydia! But I feel like through out the seasons Lydia made it pretty clear she wasn't interested. And its that unhealthy trope of keep the fire going until she cracks and says yes. Its unhealthy for stiles to have done that for so long and it wasn't good for Lydia to go through being constantly bothered by him. To me they shouldn't have ended up together at all.

You said it so perfectly that I have nothing more to add. I totally agree, they wasted all the potential between Stiles and Derek and also why did he even end up with Lydia. She always chose someone else even though she knew about Stiles' feelings and especially after she kissed him while he was having a panic attack and then decided to be with Aiden. I think they made them a couple only because fans wanted them to be one but for me it didn't make any sense. Him and Derek seriously could have an amazing relationship with their characters' development but as you said a lgbt representation in shows is still a joke but I did expect more from Joe especially because of the fact that he's a part of it but I guess I got my hopes too high :/

Bruh, if you think about it Derek in later seasons didn’t really have rage as his anchor anymore. I honestly thinks his anchor was Stiles. It’s hinted at and a moment I think about that goes with this theory is in season three. Derek is in a dream and Stiles is there, out of everyone he knows and has known why Stiles there? Derek, I guess was having trouble knowing if he was dreaming or not, which is a parallel with Stiles and the whole trickster spirit thing and him having problems the same problem. But Derek doesn’t know that Stiles went through the same problem. Stiles is just there, and he has a really strong dominant presence in Derek’s dream, like his arms are crossed he standing looking down at Derek. Derek sitting , he’s being very vulnerable and he’s telling Stiles his problems. It’s known that when you’re dreaming of someone it shows how you really see them and how you truly see yourself.That it’s self shows Derek trust Stiles enough to be vulnerable and that Stiles is a dominant presence in Derek’s life. And then this happened, Stiles tells Derek that in dreams YOU, as in Derek himself, will have extra finger or toes. Instead of looking at his own hand, Derek picks up STILES’S hand and count his. From this we see Derek snap out of this dream / wake up. Anchors are there to keep werewolves grounded and keep them human. When Derek touches Stiles he was grounded and was conscious enough to snap out of this dream. I can’t really say much because I don’t remember more about this theory. By that was one of the things I remember about it. But I love this video and Sterek was really wasted potential for Teen wolf.

Instead of actually developing characters and making Stiles and Derek a couple like they promised us, they instantly forced everyone into het relationships. I never seen anything more between Stiles and Lydia than just being friends. Why make Stiles suffer, make him show off in front of Lydia for her to make it look like she likes him and then just crush his heart again in reality playing with him like a toy when he could’ve been actually happy with Derek???

They are the reason a lot of people continued watching, and then dropped off when Hoechlin left.

even dylan O'Brien and Tyler think that sterek could work and they accept that the fandom thinks they could be a good couple.

I totally agree with everything you said in this video! Something I'd add is the videos Dylan and Tyler made when MTV was looking for voted for Teen's Choice and the like, I've seen more than one where they're together, and there are suggestions of a future we never got. Another thing, something I find quite curious, from the finale, is how Stiles and Derek arrived together, just the two of them. Yeah, there's the whole FBI thing but... it's assumed that he's still with Lydia. Why then didn't she arrive with them? I'm not saying that if they're together they should have been living together or anything... but I'd expect a couple to want to travel together, especially considering how far away they were from Beacon Hills. Yet they each arrived on their own. And Derek is the one with Stiles... again. Who knows? Maybe I just want Sterek so badly I'm seeing what I want to see... Have you heard the rumors about the show coming back? Wonder if it'll be worth it... Then again, I've my doubts Tyler will be coming back considering the upcoming Lois&Clark series so... at least we'll always have fanworks!

At this rate, they should just let the show die, cuz I already said that without Stiles and Derek, this show wouldn’t have made it this far. And I’m not disrespecting the other actors, I’m just saying that for at least 67% of the entire show, they were the only characters holding it together. I was barely able to get through the second half of season six because Stiles and Derek weren’t there for most of it.

Derek is HELLA abused by Scott. Consistently!! Not to mention he literally said that it must have been Derek’s family’s fault that Kate burned them alive 😢😢😢😢😢😢

I think that Scott being a sanctimonious buttwad who was also a shit friend, a stalker and a person who blamed the victim more than once and used a rape victims body without his consent. Boyd is a much better candidate for the true alpha thing. It was just disgusting how much the show wanted and needed Scott to be this amazing leader and person and he just wasn’t. He bit Liam without consent too. But no one in the Scott corner ever talks about that. I live for the fics where Scott is actually the good best friends and boyfriend he should have been or the ones who accept and have consequences for Scott’s crap behavior. Either way. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

I was really upset when Sterek didn't happen. The characters chemistry with eachother was undeniable and Davis denied us a potential couple on the show that wasn't toxic. Not to mention the interview Posey did basically bashing Sterek, that interview really upset me because there aren't very many LGBTQ+ representation in shows nowadays-sure we got gay side characters like Danny, Mason, Ethan and much later on Jackson. But I would have traded them all if it meant Stiles and Derek could have fallen in love and STAY in love with eachother. Davis shouldn't have basically teased the fans with Stiles potentially being Bi-sexual if there were no plans to make it a reality on the show. I agree 10000% when you said the characters balance eachother out, and that Derek was in nothing but toxic relationships throughout the series. I honestly think a loving relationship between Stiles and Derek would have given Derek better growth as a human being. Stiles would have been an EXCELLENT love interest for Derek but I guess Davis and Posey were too far up eachothers asses to see the potential between the two characters had with one another. The closest I can get to Sterek actually being a thing are fanfictions on Wattpad and other writing platforms. It's honestly both frustrating and heartbreaking. Sorry for the long winded comment.

You're right. It's always the side character, or the comic relief. There is so much about how this show came together that doesn't make sense when you step back and take a look at it. I'm not sure what it is about YA shows and the constant rep of toxic and unhealthy relationships. Kids, teens, and young adults need better examples of what a relationship should look like to understand when they are in one that they should walk away from.

I will never understand why they kept throwing scott as the perfect alpha in our face when Derek is there. Like yeah Derek had a learning curve but he NEVER abandons people or ignores them when they might be in danger. Stiles and Derek didn't even like each other at first but they took one look at the other and within a few episodes had each other's trust. When stiles says something, Derek considers his advice. When Stiles is in danger it's more believable that Derek will show up than Scott. In my opinion, Derek was and still is the Alpha (fck that true alpha shit, my lord what even the fck is that foolishness??) and Stiles is his second or emissary. A show about Stiles helping Derek regain a proper pack would have been a great arc, but they threw that out for wasted side plots. Ngl i genuinely had more interest in Peter Hale's character than i ever did in Scott or Allison. Stiles, Derek, Peter, Lydia, Chris Argent, all had better development.

Yeah, if the world was actually free of all prejudice then Sterek would have been a thing (I could see it being a slow-burn, as Stiles was under-aged), Malia and Kira would've broken up with their respective boyfriends and dated each other, Danny wouldn't have been a character there to just be pretty and gay, Allison probably wouldn't have had to choose between Scott and Isaac and they could've just been a throuple, etc...

After years i watched the 2 final seasons of Teen Wolf and with that Sterek came back to my life full force and until today it makes me so sad and frustrated. Maybe it was for the best i know, but they have everything to make an awesome couple. A platonic relationship even, based in respect and care. So sad. Also I read and watch how Dylan and Tyler were left wondering why they had less and less escenes together...sometimes actors refused to play queer characters but this was not the case

My problem not that sterek didn’t become endgame or canon , the problem that they show us a weird sexual tension and sing of love story then they say no not gonna happen ( like when they were paralyse on top of each other , this literally so sexual and even matt said that they make a good pair ( and this literally happened in every romance-comedy movie ?? And even tho they show us that stiles is Derek’s anchor .. Even we see in second season we see that derek want to kill both jackson and lydia because they think they’re the kanima but in season 3 when stiles was possessed by nogitsune derek refused to kill stiles in fact when atgent wanted to shot him he got terrified , sure its a development in the characters but it don’t happen in one season , its a development in his character and its also because he care a lot for stiles And like you mentioned he protected stiles even when he was nearly human , he did the same thing with the kanima by pushing him away even tho in mean that he’ll get hurt ( btw in season 2 derek didn’t really liked stiles so why would he do that? ) really hated what they did to sterek , I really have no problem with stydia becoming endgame but the way they gueer-bated sterek ?? Like even the cast themselves love the ship !

I know! The amount of romantic-comedy tropes they threw at the two of them was ridiculous! Derek found acceptance and understanding in Stiles, and it wasn't instant. It was a long, hard earned battle. Hoechlin leaving definitely threw a wrench into everything, and I bet if this had been a Canadian show, Sterek would have happened.

LITERALLY, and when Stiles put Derek’s name on the king, why is he more worried about Derek’s life than the life of his * childhood * best friend or the girl he said he was in love with since the third grade? Turns out Derek is more important to him? And when Derek takes Stiles as his anchor, we know anchors are a love interest bc of the power of human love scene, so why did nothing happen between them??? The qveerbaiting in this show is illegal...

Like even if they didn't wanna do the relationship route but god they should have done more with their friendship! Stiles and Derek have a lot in common and showed so much sign of helping each other heal and grow

For me Teen Wolf is the Definition of Wasted Potential, The First 3 Seasons for me are Where the show was at it's Peak. Sure it was silly and ridiculous in the Beginning but Season 3 is where it changed into truly compelling Televison at least IMO. Stiles for me is the Main Reason why i Love the show so much, Despite Seasons 4,5 and 6 being a huge dumpster fire that progressively got Over complicated and Boring all the way to the End I Still watched the Show for Stiles even though my other favorite character Derek Left after Season 4. I Always Shipped Stiles and Derek from the Beginning when i first watched the Show, I Don't really label myself Sexually and i just love who i love but i Identified with Stiles in Alot of Ways including his Sexuality even if its vaguely hinted at. Sterek for me Should have been Cannon and the fact that the Showrunners kept Dragging Fans through the Mud and kept teasing us with it is just Wrong imo. Queer baiting needs to Stop and More True representation of LGBT People should be in Media.

Why would they want to put stiles with Lydia she had almost everyone on the show. Alot didn't make sense to me. How could the single parents afford the house's they had. Because we all the monsters attacking and stuff wouldn't the taxes go crazy.

Now that I think about it, Lydia did get around, didn't she. I think it's a case of not knowing how to allow a relationship to naturally develop onscreen. As for housing, I think it was addressed at some point. Both families were struggling for money. It was a season 4 plotline, I think. But I also don't think housing prices would be that terrible there. High crime (supernatural events) would drive property values down. Just my thoughts though.

@@FangirlFollies from the plots in the early seasons, it was implied that scott and stiles had been friends and lived in those homes since they were children. Before Mama Stiles died, and before Scott's parents divorced. So it makes sense that the single parents would still have nice houses.

I'm late to this, but fr though. SPOILER ALERT FOR THE MOVIE!! It sucks how Stiles just said "byebye" and that Derek died in the movie. Like, Stiles was only mentioned a few times in the movie. The Movie didn't make it better honestly. I loved the show more when I didn't really understand anything and just watched cause I liked bloody scenes, I was so young.

Sterek was so great because Dylan and Tyler has such great chemistry both on & off screen with one another & genuine friendship and I personally would love to see them act in something completely different again together just to show everyone just how skilled they are as actors.

I feel like both Stiles and Scott are flood in their own way. Scott flaws are, he sets himself this little boundary or circle he has, refusing to grow. that is exactly why i love all the series like Teenwolf, supernatural and others...but i love and adore "shadowhunters" ... bcz the gay person was not a side character. was not useless.. actually me and almost all people i know, love malec more than all other couples in the show. their love story and everything. sterek and destiel really made me sad. specially destiel. it was the best and gratest relationship development ever and it even got canon and cas confessed, but still they made it to burry the gays... so disappointing... and teenwolf? i lived loving this series but it has too many gaps...too many characters being left with their stories untold...or sometimes they even didn't maintain what happened to them (like Isak) and when it finished i was still ok but with those behind the scene videos of sterek (those ones that they are on ship) i was sooooo mad. i loved the series so much before seeing those videos. i used to watch it on going since the season2 so i had so many memories with this series and loved it. but when i found that video on youtube i was so disgusted -_- it was too obvious how they try for queerbiting... and it is not something i can enjoy. it ruined all the good memories of teenwolf for me.

I've been thinking about doing a Malec vid for awhile. Shadowhunters definitely did a better job than most shows.

@@FangirlFollies yes. srtill it lacks a lot of things (and i don't enjoy the main couple at all...) but from the LGBTQ aspect it did a really better job. and as i am a bisexual girl, Magnes is so special for me (i can't tell if he is pansexualor Bi...but still...it is close enough XD) bcz for example in Doctor who we also had a bi icon. but he was sleeping around sooo much and it wasn't a good example to show people to let them know about bi people. (i haven't finished it yet) but for magnus it was different. he has real deep relationships... he was truly in love so many times. with girls and boys...and he was serious about them.

Both Tyler Hoechlin and Dylan O'Brien said that if it was up to them that Sterek would of become a thing some with Cody Christian and Dylan Sprayberry also said that Thaim was meant to happen but I also heard that Sterek was actually meant to happen but they couldn't have it

There is so much he said she said when it comes to Sterek and Teen Wolf. Honestly, who knows what's true at this point and what's hearsay. But I think one thing we can all agree on is that they wasted the talent and chemistry

i really love yours canal, and you love Sterek and Destiel is really a big star for me.. I always said i dont really care if they get the endgame,but they should get a chance, they was soulmates and have most more chemistry that Stydia even had, but im glad he end up with Lydia and not a other girl, if its was a girl for him, its was only Lydia,even Derek was much more right for him

Thank you so much! They really were kindred souls. Both shaped by tragedy, but overcame it to be amazing, beautiful people that wanted to save the world.

Stupid me is making comments as I watch video instead of waiting till the end because if I wait till the end I won’t remember everything I just watched goldfish brain sometimes. I refuse to accept that Danny didn’t have depth, I freaking loved Danny. It makes me absolutely ecstatic and breaks my brain every time, the fact that Danny knew The Secret the whole time and didn’t say shit 😂

So I just left a comment on your Destiel video and of course this one ended up being recommended. 🤣🤣 I'm still smarting over this one as well. Just a few days ago I had a discussion regarding the total dissapointment of this tv show, not only regarding the epic fail of Sterek but the plot after Derek kinda fades away.....I still don't like Scott, to say the least. 🤐 I still maintain to this day that Derek and Stiles should've ended as main characters, not Scott. Even if they don't end up together.

The only reason I ever started watching Teen Wolf (and I never finished the show) was because I read Sterek fanfiction, and they intrigued me so much, that I had to watch. Boy, was I disappointed when I started the show.

This is a good show but toward the middle it got kind of muddled and confusing. But I still really liked it. Dylan O'brien was great in this. I,for some reason, wondered where he went along with Allison. Did I fall asleep of did I just miss it.

There's not much know about the new movie right now and yeah it's movie and not season 7 which kinda sucks but hey at least it's something and I'm not getting my hopes up either but if the actors are there and it doesn't happen or if it's teased again. Stiles parades Derek half naked around in front of Danny to coerce Danny into helping him hack phone records. It's definitely not as bad as some of the crap people have pulled on Derek, but considering his past of being sexually abused, it's a pretty crappy thing to do.

Honestly, I thought a lot of Stiles' "gay jokes" were meant to be taken straight (no pun intended. For example, I feel like Stiles actually wanted to try making out with Scott. It was further reinforcement of Stiles being bi. Also, I wonder if one of the major reasons they avoided making Sterek canon was because of the age difference. Even a few years was still too much to make it legal. (Although I guess this wouldn't have been a problem after Stiles turned 18.)

If they had stuck with Derek's original age, it wasn't too weird. Nothing was consistent in the show. And it's not like they had an issue with Derek 'seducing' Erica.

How much fault is MTV and Davis responsible for the lack of a relationship between Sterek and Derek? And how the gay baiting was allowed to happen? Sure Tyler influenced the out come, but was Davis really that helpless over his own work? And if I remember the Scuttlebutt about TW handling of LGBT issues had to do with davis' own belief system, Just like the author of twilight had With her own Story and the Author Gavin Hood with Ender's game, Was there any truth behind that?

I think part of it was the Jeff Davis didn't like that 'his show' was getting away from him

I really hated that the show basically did with sterek and that was queerbaiting the audience with no chance of actually going through with it I'm so disappointed at what the writers did with these two it would had been great seeing them as an actual couple 😥😢🌈

I don’t know why people take Sterek so serious. I watched the show and they obviously cared about each other but nothing beyond friends, nothing sexual. Scott & Stiles said and did a lot more things than Derek and Stile did. Stile even had the key to Scott’s house, but because Scott had Allison, we didn’t think about it.

?? Stiles was in love with Lydia. Sterek was just white girl foolishness bc of Hoechlin's and O'Brien's onscreen chemistry. The Beckys keep claiming Stiles and Derek have chemistry. This isn't the case. The chemistry is between the actors but u can't explain this to loopy, clueless fan girls. Stiles' alleged bisexuality isn't a thing; he's vocally in love with Lydia. Sterek shippers are bizarre.
