the fact it still "feels" like Steps is the best thing here, so many bands come back and they dont feel the same.

Domenico Lamberti True that! The other bands tried so hard to be modern. Steps stayed true to themselves and didn't make their original fans feel betrayed. That's why they are doing so good. They know who they are.

From the US…I found Steps by accident. I was watching a video clip of a Police Gay Pride Celebration of a young officer doing some dance moves to a song playing in the background and I thought to myself, ‘Who is that?’. I scoured the internet until I found it was a pop group from the UK called Steps. I went on KZread and watched everything I could find including that four part television show about their breakup and reunion and now I’m hooked. I’ve got five albums on my phone plus the ‘official’ concert videos of the Tears on the Dancefloor and What the Future Holds tours. Can’t get enough Steps…love Claire’s voice, enchanted with H’s typical ‘drama’, love how Lee is starting to shine in his solos and love Lisa’s firecracker ‘tell it like it is’ attitude but Faye is my favorite. Love her spirit. Steps music just resonates in my soul and makes me feel good. Twenty five years and going strong and still creating awesome and relevant new music. Have a great Steps day!!
Claires voice really is Steps secret weapon. She can sing the shit out of any song. Her range & tone are both exceptional.

I love when older folks are open to music, or new things in general. I mean we all know the "this generation of music" types even though these older generations who where teens in the 60's, 70's and 80's had their parents and older generations telling them their music sucks (rock, punk, synthpop etc.) I love music of all types and generations, and I hope to be like that forever. Music is timeless and if you look hard enough there will be music in every generation that appeals to you and thanks for realising that!

And i don't think there will be another album after this one since they only made this one for STEPS 20th anniversary i think. I've been a fan since their very first appearance. This is such an incredible song for so many reasons. Can't get it out of my head. The key-change towards the end is a stroke of genius. 25yrs on, they've still got "it". If anything, they are ever more polished. Even my 11yr old son likes them and hums the chorus around the house!

They get asked every year and always decline.
@asbood112
6 жыл бұрын
Can't blame them for declining though. No matter whether our act is the best or not, we won't win with the current scoring system. A few examples: 2014 Conchita won because of Russia's stance on the LGBTQ community (good motives but why a singing contest, the song was absolute crap?), 2016 Jamala's song had a political reference and 2017 yet another appalling song sung by a guy who has a heart condition and they expect us to believe that that (heart condition) had nothing to do with the voting. Last one is not political but it shows how easily the system can be exploited to win: if there is a bully nation - oppose them, slip in political messages of some sort without people knowing or just go with the sympathy vote. In all honesty, none of the winning songs mentioned were any good (all rather slow, dull and all-in-all just plain rubbish). Last "proper" winner was Emmelie De Forest.

It should have appeared in MYX also. I am still waiting for local radio stations to play STEPS' latest singles (or even album tracks that should have been singles or worth being released as singles from Tears On The Dancefloor [and its Crying at the Disco Deluxe edition])
Amazing !!!! Steps are so underrated ! They’re freaking legends
I'm a rock & metal fan! Love Metallica, shinedown, Volbeat! But shit these guys are my guilty pleasure!!!! 😱😱🤘🤘

YES! Finally a video release. I think the release schedule was a bit late (for promo/chart effect?) but that doesn't take away that this is (for me) their absolute BEST track to date.

But today isn't 90's anymore, and this is not KPop. Many artists release the song first then official video later...

I wasn't putting it as an critique (comparing to 90's or even referencing Kpop?). Just the (general) idea behind a video is for "promo" purposes ;) A video is a great bonus, that's all, if if they wanted (chance of) bigger exposure from the start. But as I wrote: it is not affecting me personally, I'm glad there is a video to add to the catalogue. Loved the song from first listen. Only wanted best result for Steps, that's all. But it's their choice, their schedule ... no biggie. Only hopes & wishes :D Now back to repeating & rewatching the song :D

I'm confused as to why K-pop got brought into this when it wasn't mentioned in the original comment, fair enough with K-pop you get the M/V for the title track pretty much the same day as the album is released but I seen no comparison in the original comment for it to be even mentioned.

According to your theory, J-pop must ne the best because they had their MV released one month ahead of CD release
So glad they kept that 90s vibe when they came back. You don't see a lot of bands dancing today. They haven't changed, so happy 👍❤️👏👏😘😘😆
Classic 'old fashioned' pop that is strangely upto date (and sorely missed) - including the dance routine. Wish we had this today
90's kids here...great to watch them as ONE
They all look so youthful- and hardly any older. Lee especially looks as trim and fit as he did 20 years ago!
Couldn't ever get tired of this song! What a banger!

Fantastic steps. Love them all!
Love their dance routine and coordination! So good to see a group in their 40's bringing us the same energy they gave us in their 20's
Embarrassed to say I burst out crying all through this song!! I grew up adoring Steps, had every album, balled my eyes out when they split. To have you icon come back and have the same sound as they did back then, it's amazing!! Very emotional right now!! Love you guys :) Thank you :)

@@Muswell They always release feel good music thats uplifting, when the world seems to be crap!!
After so many ups and downs, still STEPS make real good music. The band has been through a lot of challenges, yet, here they are... doing what they love most! Bringing good music to people. Every member of STEPS plays an important role. Their voices jive together! Kudos for Claire, I was surprised she lost so much weight! Very disciplined!

bringing good music of old 00, 90s,80s is better than shit today , there's few bright sparks in todays music like Rita Ora , jess Glynne , Paloma faith that can sing rest is gangster rap shit.
They have just shown something that many of us have thought for a very long time! Don't reinvent the wheel! Bands are successful for a very good reason....and that is they have their own sound, own individuality. Change that and the death bells toll! Steps have been the first band I can think of that on relaunch have kept it just the way we all love!!!! To all bands out there, if you want to come back, do exactly what you did that won us over in the first place! Well done Steps!!!

Don't forget All Saints
Still the best Steps song since the reunion. It's a perfect mix of classic and modern. I remember when it first came out, was dancing in a gay bar and couldn't believe I actually got to hear NEW Steps music playing for the first time. It was beautiful.
What you can't see can't hurt you they say But I've been blind too many times before Never see it coming your way Shadows and secrets hide Give me the bright lights of the dance floor To shine inside this broken heart of mine The way you move I'm forgetting all the ghosts in my mind Just say your mine and stay by my side Don't say you're leaving Don't turn out the lights I scream, I scream, I scream Don't let the the darkness come and hold me I need someone 'cause I can't be lonely tonight Come on baby, come and take me in your arms I'll never be scared of the dark And when the shadows creep up on me If I shiver, keep your body close to mine Come on baby, come and take me in your arms I'll never be scared of the dark I'm the kind who's always falling Into trouble and into paradise I don't love by half, I'm all in, I wanna be yours Just say you're mine and stay by my side Don't say you're leaving Don't turn out the lights I scream, I scream, I scream
Still the top trending video in UK, Harry Styles dropped already. Amazing
I believe this is the best single STEPS ever released. Should have been a huge hit.

Think they heard you. Story of a heart, the dresses. Wow. lol.
Steps are a vintage diamond for a lot of people they are wicked
That is a banger. Agreed with one you tube user this should have been a global number one hit!!! The chorus is amazing! The music is just fucking fantastic and their singing is just on point especially Claire....just wow!!!!!
This is the best Steps song. Needs more likes.
I have never been into Steps. But I've gotta say, I think this is the best tune they have ever done. Good luck with the new album and tour. And Claire is a Babe, no matter what size she is.
FINALLY! This new song is not so bad at all!!!! I feel like I'm back in my old days, way back in 90's :( I Still love you STEPS :) and WOOOW! Claire change after their Reunion concert! I'm so amazed :)
I cannot Believe that this track is 4 years old today! So Steps will take a break and return later on with their newer tracks (What The Future Holds, Something In Your Eyes and Heartbreak In This City). So Scared Of The Dark on it's 4th Birthday gets the special 900/900 from me.
I am only 15 years old and I've grown up with steps. I love that song so so much
So many negative comments if you don't like Steps do not waste your time commenting negative stuff so just LEAVE! They are still as good maybe even better than they were back in the 90s!!
When I heard there was a new steps song I went straight onto KZread and looked on trending. I knew it would at least be number 3. And I think it deserves number one! Great song. They've all aged so well! This brought me back to when I first heard a steps song. Tradgedy.. when the feelings gone and you can't go on.... I'll be singing that all day now!🎤🎤🎤🎤
I have never heard of these people until really just last Tuesday I was recommended this video on YT. I clicked the video by mistake and I was sucked in!!! Crazy cause I am a huge ABBA fan. I think they are a mixture of ABBA, Bananarama, Britney Spears, Ricky Martian, and Taylor Dane. However they have their own unique sound. They all are so beautiful and good looking. Keep up the good work Steps.
It's already 2020 but their voices are still the same especially Claire 🔥
