This episode was both uplifting and utterly heartbreaking. Stolas has it nailed when he says, "You have an entire party full of people who cared about you. Do you realise how much you have to care to do something this stupid? " Blitz goes around assuming that he's unloved but never sees all the people who have loved him and been rejected. His armour of self-hatred is so thick he can't see past it.

24:38 I JUST noticed the guy asking Stolas to dance has a shirt that literally says "Better than Blitzo". And he shows up right after Blitz tells Stolas he deserves someone better than him.

The fact that what made Blitzo ditch her at their hotel room and max out her credit cards was Verosika telling Blitzo that she was in love with him is wild man

@@Rykage_ "I never look down on you" - that's a total bullshit right there. in season 1 Stolas treated Blitz like his personal f~ck toy. Also, Stolas can be blind to how his words and behavior look in the eyes of imps. In the Harvest Moon festival, when he said something like "your hard labor feeds Hell" - and the Wrath imps were angry at him, he probably didn't even notice. Don't get me wrong, I love Stolas, and his songs are my jam all the time :)

Exactly! Even when there's some blame on Stolas' part, it's no excuse to not like the character. You can like a hypocritical sad-n-gay owl boy... who's also a demon prince... And you can also like an assassin character who drops F bombs to and fro 😊

Verosika getting to be the character that finally gets through to Blitz is So good on SO many levels. Like when we first meet her, she and Blitz feel like they're on the same level of petty, but here it becomes clear she's got a lot of the same defence mechanisms as Blitz. The aggressive confidence, the holding everyone emotionally at arm's length, and she's dropped a lot of that at this party where she's comfortable. Her smile when she heard him admit he wants to change, like, this is someone who DID care, and yeah, he hurt her badly, but that kind of care never really goes away, whether you want it to or not. You can see how they might have had fun together, AND how she might have thought she recognized a kindred spirit enough to fall in love. To have that thrown back in her face, when she fucking SEES Blitz is hiding behind the same shit she is, and she risked being vulnerable becayse maybe she thought he saw the same in her? (yeah I'm guessing, but her "for once" was telling) that had to HURT. (Also, shoutout to the symbolism of her kicking out the railing to sit next to him while he's still wrapped up and hiding behind it. Also to the fact that the crowd belon them is IN the party, but she's above it and looking at where she used to be. All just excellent stuff.) I think it's clear by the end of the episode that maybe she STARTED this thing as a petty spite fest, but it's become a giant group therapy session (...AND a petty spite fest, but who doesn't love a good theme? :p) it feels much more like a "rage room" than anything else. Yeah it's angry and a bit fucked up, but these people are going to feel better about shit tomorrow, nobody is getting hurt, and maybe these hurt people WON'T go and hurt other people like Blitz has. I do feel the invites to this party might be very generously applying the term "ex" here though, because like, Dennis was barely a drunken kiss at a party. It hurt his feelings at the time, sure (and he doesn't seem to catch a break here either, "you suck Dennis!" poor guy) but like, really? Blitz hurt you bad enough to want to burn an effigy or stab cake of him? Oooor did Verosika fucking Mayday invite you to the banging Halloween party in the mortal realm that she throws every year, and there's NO way you're missing that? I'm just saying I kind of wonder if this thing has grown past the original intent over the years. Like, some of these people are clearly upset and genuinely hurting. But some are just here for the drinks and the vibe, and why wouldn't you be, it looks amazing. ANYWAY, yeah, LOVED Verosika in this episode, and that was an unexpected but very welcome surprise. Also, TWO banger songs? Let's GO. Also loving that Blitz and Stolas continue to be a garbage fire. Between the two of them they are one whole mess. If they were suddenly mature adults about any of this I'd be disappointed that the shows writing had slipped. ALSO I mean, say what you want about Blitz, but you have to appreciate the guy having zero hangups about body type, gender, or apparently anything else. Good for him! :D

21:16 I totally get you on wanting more back story stuff about blitz but to be fair, they've already given a lot of context to why he's that guarded: his dad never loved him and preferred fizz over him; his mom died during the fire accident in the circus that blitz accidently caused so he blames himself for her death (and his sister cut ties with him because of that). so he has a mix of self-hatred, daddy issues, abandonment issues, he's scared to let people close emotionally because he thinks he's unlovable and he scared to hurt them but all that just resulted in him putting up this front and falling into destructive patterns that hurt him and other people. both him and stolas desperately need some good therapy:)

GOOD FOR HIM, I HOPE HE GETS LAID. Incubus guy was being a nice guy and trated Stolas with respect and was really sweet. Verozica was really suportive for everyone at that party, helping people who are hurt as much as her and helping them to cope, to let out steam and finding others. She was extra sweet to Stolas, calling him baby and kissing him and just making sure he knows he is not alone. All this while she is hurting too. I really want Stolas and Blitzø to be endgame buuuuuuut they really need to break up and go to therapy. BOTH OF THEM. As much as I liked incubus guy, I dont think Stolas is in the right mind space to be dating but a dance with a nice guy and some make out?? YES. Go get some fun, my baby birdie boi. Get Stolas some cake. Get laid. GOOD FOR HIM.

To be fair, knowing how Stella is, her screaming and threatening Stolas was just Thursday to him, he didn't know who she was talking to.

This episode was so gooooooood! The tone at the beginning had me a bit uneasy, but the writing and the character dev was amazing! Also, many people was theorizing that Stolas and/or Blizt would have a rebound relationship during their breakup, but I love that something Stolas needed and actually got was a guy with whom have some light fun and laughter, the incubus guy was actually a really sweet detail!

The tattoo totally says Blitzo and crossed out. He is the real guest of honor at the "hate Blitzo" party, probably he hates himself more than most people there. The accident really broke him. Imagine, he wanted to give a love letter to Fizz, and everything went to shit destroying Fizz, and killing his own mother. His sister doesn't even show up at the party because she wants nothing to do with him. On the other hand, wtf Dennis is doing there? He had like a 5 minutes make out session with him :D (and probably there are some more people like him there, imagining way more into what they had with Blitz)

The face of realization about Martha and Mrs. Mayberry was priceless xD

Even tho the relationship failing is the fault of both, Blitz has hurt so many people in a horrible way, and he lashes out whenever people show feelings, his trauma doesnt justify hurting others, Blitz needs to own up his mistakes, because unlike Stolas, he did it on purpose

I get blitz is supposed to be the worst person to be in a relationship in hell or something, but if youre so salty about a relationship not working out that you feel the need to attend a party over it, youre the one with the issue lol.

I don't think "a relationship not working out" is the problem here. There's a difference between a relationship not working out, and your partner making you feel like gutter trash, which is what many people at the party feel like. Like Verosika said, she said "I love you" and he completely ditched her. The one time she decided to be vulnerable. Yeah, the party being thrown is petty, but she does it to help people cope with the fact that Blitzo made them feel like less than nothing.

I just dont think what he did is any worse than that. not to mention shes not exactly a caring person either. lets not forget how she bascially assualted moxie for no reason last season lol. idk maybe its just a side effect of trying to have serious emotional moments in a comedy about people in hell just sends conflicting messages.

@@nullakjg767 I'm confused. Most relationships failing due to things like cheating doesn't mean that people can't be heartbroken, or feel like less than nothing, if they get cheated on. Not everyone is numb to death just because people die every day. And yeah, no one said that Verosika was a nice person, lol. She's a succubus that went to Earth and had her gang have sex with people just to win a bet and sexually assaulted Moxxie. They're in Hell, but many of the residents there still have feelings. They're not emotionless husks. That's why Loona has some of the issues that she does (like abandonment), Asmodeus and Fizzaroli are in a relationship and love each other, etc. I do agree that in some instances, the comedic parts of the show are a bit conflicting, but I think they've been pretty clear in most of the show's lifespan now that the residents of Hell aren't just "we're in Hell, who cares" all the time.

yeah stolas literally lords over a large portion of hell. thats what being a noble is. hes incredibly privledged and while he has the duties of nobility, hes still literally above 99% of hell.

Are you sure? Martha and her husband weren't monogamous back in "Murder Family", I don't think we can reasonably assume they are now just because he wasn't in that scene.
