Stephon Marbury on How Near-Death Experiences Drove Him Away From Kevin Garnett and the Timberwolves
Kevin Garnett and Stephon Marbury had the potential to be one of the greatest one-two punches in NBA history, but several factors away from the court led Stephon Marbury to find his way out of Minnesota. #stephonmarbury #kevingarnett #minnestoatimberwolves

The cold 🥶 is not hard to adapt to. It's no different than adapting to summer. If you're cold, dress up more heavy. If you know you're going out, dress up right ✅️. Wear heavy gloves so your hands not completly freezing. Store your warmth before putting on thermos and going out. Pay attention to the roads and don't just casually drive. Afterwards, the weather is doable. I literally struggled in Minnesota, Washington, South/North Dakota, Wyoming and other places. It made Philly, New York, and other places cold weather seem pathetic in comparison 😒. And this is a Floridian from Miami that's annoyed by 90 degree weather yr round saying this.

I'm from Minnesota. People here have a relationship to cold, that you just don't have, if you've never lived for decades in the cold. Personally, I work outside all winter, in Minnesota. We all complain about it, but we live and push on. Hearing comments from a guy like Marbury about how it's just crazy merely living in Minnesota, for us, gives us a good laugh, and reminds us, we're a lot stronger, at least in this way, than most people on earth. And that's funny! I think back to my great grandparents sometimes and wonder how they lived in Minnesota before modern heating systems in houses, or very good insulation. That's baffling to me. We live in a place where the cold kills people every year. My wife, who's from Hungary, agrees with Stephon Marbury, in thinking we're all a little crazy just for living here.

I come back home, and 100F feels strangely tolerable. If I put you in -40F, you're probably going to feel like you're going to die in 2 minutes. For me, I still get that feeling, but my body has been subjected to this insane cold before and is already churning out a lot of heat. So... I'll feel like dieing too, but it might take 20 minutes... Plus, I won't dress stupid. My work force right now are all people from Ukraine. You'd think fairly cold, right? Meh... marginally... I literally have to teach them all how to dress for the cold, or they will freeze in 30 minutes. Kids here dress with as little clothes as possible, during winter, because only the weak bundle up. While insane from a safety stand point, that's how the body learns this kind of cold is dangerous so GENERATE HEAT!!!

Driver stops cold and black ice how Again?
I only went to Minnesota to go to the Prince Museum, in Chanhassen. I am happy I made that pilgrimage, but I was happy to leave for L.A! I went in the Spring, and it was colder that it ever gets in my hometown.
Stephon is an absolutely solid person. I can hear that in the positive way that he speaks about the Minnesota people/fans, how beautiful the state is, how he enjoyed and looked forward to playing with Garnett to the point where he was respectful enough to let the front office know that they should trade him in order to get something out of him instead of letting him walk in free agency. Much respect.
We were looking at the Modern Day John Stockton & Karl Malone duo reincarnated . It was that good.

Stephan left Kevin because KG got the big money and when it was his turn the money was less.

Damn Marbury! 😮
He was great for Minnesota. He handled business and then kicked rocks. ALL LOVE!!! TOP TEN GUARDS OF ALL TIME! 💥💥💥
It was absolutely the contract, this revisionist stuff.

Stephen has become such a beautiful soul…
He lying like shit. You can just tell. He was young and selfish and that’s it. It’s all good though. Starbury ⭐️
This is Kyrie before Kyrie --- except for the 🚫🏆 part! Moral of the Story: You don't realize how good you have it --- until you don't! #ohwell #sucka🍭
I've hit black ice here in Oklahoma City before and one time I spun 3 or 4 times across 4 lanes of highway traffic after coming onto an onramp and eventually came up against the concrete barrier all the way on the other side that just happened to have snow piled up so I didn't even get a scratch. I'll never forget those few seconds though and at one point my car was facing backwards and I could see a big rig barreling at me. I get what he's talking about for sure.
I'm an Alabama native who's been calling the Twin Cities home for 7 years now. Personally, I love it here. Like Marbury said, the summers are beautiful (just not as long)! The Falls and Winters are too. My only gripe is Spring. As a born & raised southerner, I'm ready for Spring weather in March & April. But here, we may get 10 inches of snow. 😂 But regarding Marbury's experience, I get it. Minnesota isn't for everyone. You may have to invest in an AWD or snow tires. Me, I just put sand bags on the back of my truck during the winter and I don't have any issues. But boi, I wish he would get back involved with the T'Wolves organization somehow because it is A LOT for Marbury in the Twin Cities. In the words of Antman: "Believe Dat!" 🐜🐺💙💚

He wanted to go play for the Knicks from the get go and they did him dirty just like they did Carmelo. Be careful what you wish for, he would've been the legend he is China in Minnesota.

We don’t have penguins during our cold season.
Both these guys had the perfect spot but their ego wouldn't fit. Drove them to go home and never sniff greatness again. Carmelo could have left Denver as a free agent but his ego said "NO, trade the whole Knicks line up for me, I'm the man". They both would have a chip if they stayed with the team that drafted them. Doesn't always work out, that's why I've never felt bad for Melo, he chose induvial success over the team.
To see my two favorite Knicks together is dope

That black ice is no joke. I hit a patch entering the freeway, ended up sliding sideways for a while, and then miraculously straightened out. Luckily didn't hit anybody. I still live here though 😂
Wolves should have kept Ray Allen instead of you,-south Minneapolis resident .
Name one team that he made better once he left Minnesota..... I'll wait.
