Is Wonderboy not the most the most likable guy in all of MMA? I mean, what can anyone say negative about him? He is a class act, both inside and outside of the Octagon.

@@alexpo1677 It's irrelevant because all of those examples are subjective. Kamaru Usman who was a great champion always showed good sportsmanship even in defeat. Didn't stop you from hating him. Israel Adesanya whom you and your folk hate vehemently is credited by many fans for being the reason they get into the sport. Evidently being a good representative of MMA. Doesn't stop you from hating him. Character has absolutely nothing to do with ability. Jon Jones is considered a horrible human being by many but he's the greatest this sport has ever seen. Humility does not equal ability. Thompson is a great fighter but this is the Ultimate Fighting Championship, not the Humility Fighting Championship.
Wonderboys movement was so clean in this fight. Top level footwork right there

They always show class.
Wonderboy made this look so effortless while still respecting Masvidal’s striking and never giving him the chance to take off on him. Solid work by Wonderboy.
There is no doubt if Wonderboy didn't get such a late start learning how to defend against the takedowns by wrestlers, he would have been a champion.

True but he’s still one of the best and most exciting fighters ever. Definitely one of the best strikers the ufc has ever seen. He beat the hell out of holland at 40 years old

They did Poirier dirty with that comment. Mma striking is different than boxing. Jorge is a good striker, mediocre boxer. Commentary in these mma fights are reckless sometimes 🤦♂️

It also sucks he missed his chance to fight Usman back in 2021-22 when he fought burns. He was right back in that picture after that robbery loss to till in 2018 and pettis very tactical superman punch in 19. He also beat some of the current top contenders in the divison during his comeback run. He looked good against shavkhar however he def lost his touch on being able to analyse his frame surrounding to secure a hook to let go of the wrestling Shavkhat was applying to him

I can’t say that I hate wonderboy, I’ll go as far as to say that I love wonderboy. But I just don’t like how he fights like a first generation MMA fighter, one style and one style only, one skill. Which is karate. And never developed any new skills, but expected himself to win the title against 2nd and 3rd generation MMA fighters

Because he was having trouble getting in with just hands, and Thompson's stance put the front leg out there. Otherwise he would have scored much fewer strikes.

I'd have to disagree with Rogan. Thompson is traditional not unorthodox. It just isn't often successful in the cage. He and Machida made it work. But for both of these guys to be kicked and punched with mma gloves so many times and just take it shows how tough they really are.
By body language only, maybe George wasn't such a dick back then.
