Stephen Lawrence: 'Essential' My Son’s Killers Confess | 30 years on with Neville Lawrence

Stephen Lawrence's father, Neville Lawrence, speaks exclusively to The Mirror about the murder of his son thirty years on.
In 1993 Stephen Lawrence was murdered in a racially motivated attack in Eltham, London. Three decades on The Mirror and Neville look back at an 18-year legal battle that changed the UK and uncovered a legacy of institutional racism within the Metropolitan Police.

Kriss Donald (2 July 1988 - 15 March 2004) was a 15-year-old Scottish teenager who was kidnapped and murdered in Glasgow in 2004 by a gang of British men of Pakistani origin, some of whom fled to Pakistan after the crime.[1][2][3][4] Daanish Zahid, Imran Shahid, Zeeshan Shahid and Mohammed Faisal Mustaq were later found guilty of racially motivated murder and sentenced to life imprisonment.[2][3] A fifth man, Zahid Mohammed, pleaded guilty to kidnapping, assault and lying to police and was sentenced to five years in prison.[5] He later went on to testify against the other four at their trials.[6] The case featured the first-ever conviction for racially motivated murder in Scotland. Compare what his family received in comparison to the Lawrence family. Makes one think.

I am suffering a similar fate right now . Murders in Seaview Gardens stabbed my nephew multiple times. Then reported to the police he was insane. The police wanting to get things easy for themselves. Did not throughly investigate. The case is cold. I just waiting on God to avenge all who hurt him and those who did nothing to solve this murderer.

@@MsCharlieBrown78 Thank you for acknowledging this. I am sick and tired of every time someone acknowledges any kind of injustice that happens to a Black person, there are always people who chime in with "what about this white person..." White people rarely have to wait decades for justice to happen, especially in cases like this where they know exactly who the perpetrators were but law enforcement either doesn't give a damn or, even worse, they're actually complicit in trying to cover it up. The comments here are ignorant and shameful. Over 30 years later and certain people still refuse to show the Lawrence family any respect. Disgusting.

@@steveclark2887oh, please. It's the 30th anniversary of Stephen Lawrence's murder and new information about it has come out. Unlike Stephen Lawrence, Lee Rigby's murder had nothing to do with race and the investigation wasn't hindered by the racism, corruption and negligence within the Met Police. That's why Lee Rigby isn't being talked about right now, not because he isn't black ffs. Besides, *Rigby has ALREADY been remembered with tributes, memorials, etc on the 10th anniversary of his death, in May this year.* So quit trying to undermine and disrespect black victims like Lawrence ffs 🙄🤡

@@evierose7881you're literally talking about him right now. So don't try and play the "no one talks about him" card. If that were true, there wouldn't be any headlines or posts, videos, and comments on social media. In reality, there are thousands. Also, his murder wasn't a "hate crime against soldiers" ffs. That doesn't exist. A hate crime is a typically violent crime committed against someone because of their race, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, religion or disability. That's what happened to Stephen Lawrence. He was killed because of his race. Yet you've hypocritically got nothing to say about him. That plus the fact that you're undermining and disrespecting him by talking about Rigby during Lawrence's time is what's actually disgusting 🙃🙄🤡

First of all, white victims are generally given a lot more attention and air time than black victims. Second, Stephen is being talked about because it's the 30th anniversary of his murder and new info has come out. 6 white boys killed him for no other reason than the fact that he was black, and on top of that, his investigation was heavily hindered by the incompetence, corruption & systemic racism within the Met Police. Did any of that happen to the unreported victims? No. There's your answer. This doesn't happen every day. 🙃🙄🤡
