    I feel like since people want the Chiefs to lose soo bad because they have been winning the last few years they are just throwing out nonsense because be fr how are you even comparing a guy that has won 2 rings, 2 MVPS, Been to 6 consecutive AFC Championships, and won of those 3 AFC championships. You can give Lamar his flowers but don’t downgrade Patrick Mahomes or even compare him because he Lamar doesn’t even have half of Mahomes Rapsheet.

    Having said that Ryan Tom Brady's extensive experience and impressive track record set him apart from Patrick Mahomes since of course, Mahomes doesn't have his Rapsheet. While Mahomes is undoubtedly a talented player, he has yet to establish the same level of dominance and consistency that Brady has demonstrated over his career. Therefore I have no idea why people even mentioned Mahomes as the GOAT

    The question isn’t who’s “better” or “greater”, the question is who’s more “revolutionary”. Mahomes is basically the pinnacle of QB play, but at the same time it’s slightly replicable, even if at a much worse rate. Lamar though, is one of one. There has never been anything like him, Vick included, and helped revolutionize how people look at QBs due to the different style succeeding so well. Mahomes is clearly better, there’s no contest there. But that wasn’t the question.

    Lamar is my favorite QB in the league, but if we're looking at this objectively: Mahomes has been more revolutionary. GMs are looking for the next Mahomes, not necessarily the next LJ as I think the league are still catching up on really seeing his value to the game. Patrick Mahomes has changed the way we view good throws vs. bad throws much like how Steph Curry changed the way we look at good shots vs. bad shots in the NBA. Lamar hasn't quite had that degree of impact on the game. I'm rooting hard for Lamar and the Ravens in these playoffs, but the answer is Mahomes respectfully.

  • @andrewchiu6226

    @andrewchiu6226

    Yup. Just like with Steph - all the kids are now throwing like Patrick, and all the coaches are yelling at them to master the fundamentals before the no look, non-platform stuff. He has also set the expectation that all new QBs should have dual threat ability even if they don't feature exceptional footspeed, which Pat doesn't.

    Great analogy. Yeah, Lamar (my favorite player) is like pre championship versions of KD, Joker or even Giannis. It's almost magical seeing what they can do out there but it's going to take a while for that next guy like them to be found. Revolutionary is a big word too because Steph really did change the game & they still looking for that next Steph Curry though. Jokic has & still is in the midst of shifting how do you prepare for a baller like him. Same with Lamar but he Really would solidify it for the naysayers with a ring. I'm absolutely hoping he wins one too. 🙏🏼

    Revolutionary: involving or causing a complete or dramatic change. I think the way you defend Lamar is much more Revolutionary because we've only seen MVP Cam at this sort of dual threat throwing and running the football. We've seen great QBs with great arms, who can scramble some before similar to Mahomes. But we just don't see as many Lamar Jacksons, so based on the change he forces defenses to adjust to I think Lamar is clearly more revolutionary.

    Interesting question, but it is definitely Patrick Mahomes. He is as close to a perfect QB as far as skillset and intangibles that has ever played the game. He can make every throw, can play in the pocket and out of it, and is the best or 2nd best escape artist in the league (Josh Allen is in the convo). Not to mention, he can run the ball well also. His blend of passing and running and how he allows those skills to play off of each other makes him so revolutionary. He is also clutch. He won his first superbowl while trailing every game by double digits in that playoffs. A big reason that Lamar took such a big leap at QB to me, even though the passing numbers might not suggest it on the surface, is he became more like Patrick. What I mean by that is, even though, the ravens are the least passing team, when he does drop back to pass, he is making great decisions and manipulating defenses with his eyes and threat of running. He is faking a run to open up a pass now, whereas before he committed to running very quickly. This makes him so much more unpredictable and I believe he learned that from watching Patrick.

    The question isn't about who's better or greater. I gotta give Lamar a slight edge in terms of revolutionizing the position. It's akin to what Curry did in the NBA as a PG. We've honestly seen a Lamar and Mahomes before, to a lesser degree, but Lamar was literally asked to change positions. I think owners and GMs may reconsider asking athletic QBs that question going forward after witnessing what LJ is doing. Mahomes and some of his unorthodox mechanics will never be taught to QBs, that guy's a maniac but i think more coaches would welcome athletic QBs with great running potential.

THAT is revolutionary!
