The funny thing is, this segment is a perfect example of the reason many of us are wanting shows like Mind the Game. This segment is 100% gossip, non-sports related discussions. Sure, lots of people like that, otherwise these shows wouldn’t exist. But so many of us also just want basketball talk, whether it’s X’s and O’s, or ex-players coming on to talk about their careers as players.

This is also why the whole SAS saying he hated where sports media was going was such a joke coming from him. He is like 30-50% responsible for it being where it is today. Perfect topic example of what SAS and ESPN has pushed since first take's inception in that they just want a soap opera with sports as a backdrop. Neither party cares about the actual sports anymore, which is exactly why JJ's podcast even before Lebron was popping off.

LeBron hasn't played since April 29th, and there has NOT been one day when First Take hasn't talked about the Lakers or LeBron. The NBA Finals are going on right now.
