@@97NikeSb Neither Kupp nor Johnson had the opportunity to choose the teams they played for. Kupp just had more opportunities than Johnson. Matthew Stafford is proof of this. Given enough talent at the WR position, Stafford can produce. The Lions never had a team this good. Johnson did more on fewer catches while being the defense’s only concern. Kupp did it on a good team which featured better WRs commanding any and all significant coverage away from him, all while having some of the greatest coaching in all of the NFL. Pretty lazy take, dude.

Stephen A Smith is absolutely right. Cooper can hurt you everywhere, he can hurt you in the slot, the outside, blocking, route running and his hands are great too. He’s a complete WR and this is his year, he deserve to be called the best because he played liked the best.

Exactly. Kupp is like Edelman, but with the added ability to take any catch to the house if he has even 5-6 yards of separation. I say that say with reverance to Edelman, who was the master of using precise timing, short area quickness & an array of slick moves to ALWAYS be open, even when eveyone knew he was getting the ball. One of the best third down targets in NFL history. Now we see what adding downfield ability to that gets you: 2000 yards and 22 TDs lol

I would rather have Adams running a deep route then cup, cup is good for underneath and finding spots in the zone but Adams requires double coverage every play. I don't think Cooper ever got enough recognition throughout his career because he's been pretty consistent and it wasn't until the playoffs that people noticed him. But I've seen him for a long time, it's like Mike Evans of the Buccaneers, the guy is a untouchable receiver but it wasn't until Brady got there that more people noticed him

I mean that rams scheme is so advanced, they find ways to get Kupp the ball with favorable matchups every time. Kupp is great, but the reason he put up better numbers than everyone else is because of the way he is used in that offense.

Kupp’s worst game this year was 5 catches 64 yards 0 TD.. Devonta Adams had that stat line or worse 5 times this year. Kupp only had 2 games all year under 90 yards and he scored a TD in one of them.

Hopkins was way more clutch tho he got 3 first downs when they needed it the most in a row. No offense to kupp but hop deserves more respect for giving them a chance and kupp was forced the ball multiple times in the end with a very questionable holding call and everyone saw the whole offensive line basically jump so it shouldn’t even happened. It should of been 4th down.

With all his production Cooper Kupp blocks for the run like a mule. He's the best, most impactful wide reciever in the game right now.

170 catches 2300+ yds 21 touchdowns. Those are crazy numbers Kupp put up this year.

He won the triple crown, won OPOY, and SB MVP. Jerry Rice did that in an entire career but never in a single season. No other receivers in NFL History beside Rice and Kupp have those 3 accomplishments to their name. What more does Kupp have to do to prove that he’s by FAR the best receiver in the league? Add some melanin to his skin? Get some dreads? Man put some respek on his name!!

Matthew Stafford="Mr. Comeback." Down 3 and it's no big deal with 6 minutes left. But, down 4, and needing a TD late in the 4th was a different story!!!!!!!!!! Matthew was coooool under pressure to deliver the ball perfectly every throw! Even had a great TD pass called back for off setting penalties, and had to do it again! Staff is now GOATED, and HALL OF FAMED!

You can't help but be proud of him. Think about it. You're with an organization that is synonymous with losing for years and you go to another team and in that one year, you pull a Brady and you win the super bowl? That's insane!

Overall he could be the best. It's tough to say there are plenty of great ones but Kupp had a monster season and has been very good for years. Depends on what you are looking for too.

"Could"? He is currently the best, dawg. How did Adams do in this year's playoffs? 9 catches for 90 yards, 0 TDs. How did Kupp do in the playoffs? Kupp *averaged* 95 yards/game, scored at least 1 TD per game, and outperformed Adams in every single playoff game except in the Divisional round against the Cards due to Stafford not passing much, yet still got 61 yards and a TD that game. If you want to be the best, you gotta show up in the regular season AND postseason, and Kupp did just that with a "lesser" QB in Stafford compared to Rodgers

There is so many talented young receivers in the league right now. Fun to watch.

I love listening to Dan breakdown how a player runs or Acts or how a game goes or how a play goes. You can hear the knowledge that he has from his past as a quarterback. It's different nuances that commentators like this can pay attention to that commentators who have never played the game don't have that wealth of knowledge to come from.

Kupp is like Edelman in terms of short area quickness & precise timing over the middle- and he's almost as tough (nobody is tougher than Jules.). That's why Edelman is the closest comp in terms of always being open, even when the defenses know he's getting the ball. On top of that, Kupp can win deep & is one of the best in the league after the catch. If he has 5-6 yards of separation when he makes the catch, he has the field vision & breakaway speed to take it all the way EVERY TIME.

Brett Favre 43 8 Matt Ryan. 42 Against the Bengals he got his 44th Game winning drive and is 6th and he is only 33. He has had 3 game winning drives this post season ALONE. This is the REAL STAFFORD. He is CLUTCH, that's it... I've heard many critics about his inconsistencies and have unfairly overcriticized him about his play in a new system. THIS IS WHAT WE HAVE BEEN SAYING FOR YEARS, If Stafford ever gets freed from that cursed franchise that yields no good for anyone who enters the door, ITS OVER. Guess what? Receiver Triple Crown, Offensive Player of the Year, AND Super Bowl MVP in a single season. Rice was the only receiver to accomplish all that in a career and this man did it in one year. He's the best in the league right now.

You mean when he gets a linebacker and a safety on him while yes in the beginning of the season you are correct however later in the season he was double close to if not the most in the league and had a lot of good slot cornerbacks or cornerbacks in general go up against him the you have the super bowl where he was double and triple teamed every play and still the defense couldn’t do anything

Maybe there was some question about who the top WR in the league is. But once Kupp won the triple crown and the Super Bowl, it's was a wrap. In my opinion any player that leads the league in every statistical category at their position is the best football player in the league.

Everybody on here had great points, it was a combination of all those points. IAs for the comparison of A Donald and LT the anonymous hall of famer mentioned less dominant defenders. You could argue that’s because of talent of the on the offensive end, the modern schemes, and the game is more careful now with rules and officiating. That doesn’t diminish today’s game tho. But players today are more athletic overall and A Donald gives the impression that he would dominate any era. He’s consistently a problem for good offensive lineman singled or doubled. That being said both of their impacts on the game are huge and seem equal.

He was pretty amazing on 2nd watch ngl I thought AD should have gotten the nod but I'm not so sure on second watch. Its close.

It’s all about the system and QB. You can’t tell who the best is. How would D hop be with stafford or Rogers

If you were to say "RECEIVER" and only focus on just that, then you have an argument with Devonte. However, Kupp is a Unicorn that can perform on Devonte's level, but provide absolutely more. He is beyond clutch and the fact he can perform at a high level beyond the Receiver position is what makes him the "IT" factor. The Rams have two of these Unicorns on their team with Donald on the other side. That last Superbowl drive by Kupp sealed the argument for me. Devonte had his chance and you can place blame on Aaron for that, but they can discuss that during the off-season. Why did I have the MVP QB and we simply couldn't get past the 49ers at home? Yeah, MVP QB and best label receiver in the game? Marinate on that one for just a bit. . .
