And to make Meg’s argument even more ridiculous, the issue wasn’t that this author/friend recorded her conversation with Melania. It’s that she was already being set up to take the heat and blame for something that wasn’t her doing, to keep the fire off the Trumps. To flip the argument, would Meghan’s mother treat a longtime aide in this same way? If the answer is yes, then I would applaud the aide recording their conversations. Meg can only see an issue from one side though.

That is how Stepanie is all the time. She is a train wreck. Stephanie even says in her book that her monthly lunches with melania were like therapy because she would do all the talking about her problems then at the end when melania could get a word in, she would offer her some reassuring advice and then Stephanie would feel better, she states. This experience ended 2 years ago but you would never know it to listen to her. She has always been on the edge of a nervous breakdown and unfortunately doesn't seem to know how to take care of her self with boundaries. I hope this whole situation can be healed and that Stephanie will find peace. I hate to see anyone so unglued.

Meghan doesn’t like tell all books because if one was written on her family it would be discovered that her mother started dating McCain while he was married to someone else making her a home wrecker and that her mother was also hooked on prescription meds for years. She was hooked on meds because of McCains numerous affairs. So yeah she is a little guarded.

If the lies of my friends hurt thousands of lives (police brutality, immigrants at the border, etc) I’d expose them, too!

I tolerated John Mc Caine at first as a politician and when he took the mic from an old lady who was professing that Obama was a muslim and that she couldn't trust him at a town hall meeting , he said to her "no non he's a good man but they just don't agree with each other on some things. That's when the true character of John Mc Caine came through to me. Yet his daughter is nothing like him. Since I have watched her on the View I can't bear to see her condescending attitude and hear her whinny voice and witness her holier than thou white privilege stance. She is what is wrong with America as it relates to people of different opinions being able to communicate.If I were her father seeing what I saw of his character during that town hall meeting I'm sure he would tell her "Show a little more humility and stop acting as if everyone is beneath you.

This reminds me of the Anonymous letter we got from the WH back in 2018. So many people hated it, but I'm 100% in support for the whistleblowers and their efforts to help from within. She's brave for showing face when she knows it welcomes harassment and potential harm. I hope we see more of this from brave people within as we reach the final weeks.

Meghan McCain was so rude to Wolkoff! Someone needs to teach her how to do this stuff. She's not qualified and she also doesn't have the right temperament. That's just not how any professional interviewer would talk to someone who was their guest. Wolkoff responded beautifully!

At first I was skeptical of Stephanie's book. Because it seems like everyone and their dog is writing a book about these people. Not saying it's wrong, but it's like a tell all book is coming out every month. BUT seeing how passionate she got responding to Meghan's question, I realize that this is someone who really lived in that experience, she started to tremble with indignation and that's real emotion. Is it for revenge? perhaps. But I feel like this is a person who fully understands what these people are like. It must not have been easy for her. Kudos to her for putting this out.

HOWEVER, your basis for believing her--the fact that "she started to tremble with indignation" suggests that you may need to study more history. Many have been imprisoned or even lynched because someone (?) "trembled with indignation" while relaying a story. Study more history; start with the Scottsboro Boys. History proves that not all tremulous indignation is rooted in truth. Some people tremble when caught in a lie.

She does come across as genuinely distraught, but if she’s going to keep doing these interviews, she’s going to need to get some media training so she can present her thoughts more calmly and coherently.... The White House is already trying to shame her with that comment about her being “clearly insecure”

@@abi7183 - I’ve seen other interviews a week or so ago and she wasn’t this fraught. She did one with Rachel Maddow which was good, she wasn’t like this. I feel like there’s something going on behind the scenes, she said here that the Trumps were “going after” her again. I feel like she’s under a lot of stress, certainly she was different in the Maddow interview.

Emily Maiden I only saw clips of the RM interview and she did appear a bit nervous in parts e.g. unsteady voice, rambling a bit. I do agree it’s much worse here. You’re right, the hate from Trumpists surely can’t be helping

It is really unprofessional of Meghan McCain not to read the books ahead of these interviews. It was pretty clear she didn't read Mary Trump's book either & based her questions off what she had heard / presumed about the book.

when the choice is between you and a rich person’s money... you’d be an absolute fool to think a rich person would choose you OVER the money that fuels their own lifestyle.

As usual, Megan has all of the facts WRONG and tried to miss characterize the intent of this book. I find it rather sleezy of Megan to suggest that she 8s doing this just to make money. It always seems that Megan tries to defend Trump and his family and deflect our attention away from the wrong doing. I often wonder if she secretly likes and supports Trump? You would think she would be less inclined to constantly try and give Trump a pass seeing how she proclaimed to have loved her late father sooooo much, and Trump speaks so badly about him. She needs to get off this "Everyone that writes a tell all book is the bad guy" thing that she has.
