Russell Welch was billed by the great Stephane Wrembel as a "New Orleans guitar legend" on Stephane's FB Page promo for this show. They first played together at on one of Stepahne's regular Sunday night Barbes shows when Russell was in town, and then at one of Russell's gigs at New Orleans' famous Spotted Cat Music Club and Three Muses in 2019, and later that year in Stephane's first sold out "Django New Orleans" shows run at Joe's Pub, NYC. After a pandemic pause, Russell was a teaching faculty member and featured performer at Stephane's international Django a GoGo 2022 in NYC and N.J., which included another sold out "Django New Orleans" concert. Russell was back in the N.E. as a teaching faculty member at Django In June 2022 at Smith College in Massachusetts, and was gigging in NYC area before returning home to New Orleans.
