You don’t have to be good to get that feeling though, I think. I’ve never played professionally, I’m a decent/average player but I LOVE playing basketball for that meditative feeling you can get. “He’s unconscious” is a term I used to hear - just another term for it. I’m in my 50s now and the body is falling apart but I still play (and play comp) because I love trying to recapture that state.

Yep anyone can get into it. In England a soccer striker called james beatie scored 20 goals in 150 games, Then he went on a hot streak and scored 20 goals in 20 games. On that form a big team spent big money on him. He then scored 20 goals in his next 150 games. Meaning they wasted alot of money on a not very good player. But during that hot streak for 3 months he looked unstoppable. He was on fire, in the zone, unconscious!

To hear him talk about how he continually refines his game through long practices in the off season with different shot angles and footwork combinations. And to hear him say that after 14 years as an elite player he still can improve his skills, only someone who truly loves what they do can say that. He's one of the greats for good reason.

Because of his natural gift, training, and preparation, Steph is in a "flow" state for much more frequent and longer periods of time. Anyone of these world-class NBA players can get on a hot streak, but can you get hot repeatedly for several quarters and multiple games in an 82-season plus playoffs? Or be a threat anytime on the court with virtually unlimited range? That's the proprietary training scheme and obsession he alluded to, lol. That's why he's the GOAT shooter and will be top 5 when he retires.

And then 1 by 1 he started knocking off so many great players from getting a ring, they didn't stand a chance in hell and til this day are still trying just to win 1 damn ring and he has 4. That is crazy to know that Steph along with his teammates are responsible for all these ringless superstars....Harden, CP3, Westbrook, PG13, Dame, CJ, even the younger ones are being stopped....Luka, Jokic, Booker, Kat, Tatum, Brown, and we all know Lebron would have 7 rings right now if there was no Steph, well 6 in my opinion because I can't count that Covid bubble ring but it's in the books so🤷🏽‍♀lol

That play was the official changing of the guard for the NBA. The coach, 5 time NBA Champ and was raised by the NBA old school, begs for the star player to make the "right play". In an instant, fundamentals was replaced by "shoot it." Imagine if Iverson, Reggie Miller, Ray Allen, Larry Bird, MJ and the others were told to just play offense! The NBA would be even more popular.
