hey thank you for the inspiration. If this is something you guys want, I can do that in the future.
Looks amazing! A couple of questions: -What's your workflow like between Dynamesh/Subdivisions? It looks like around 9:56 your poly count quadruples for that subtool, so it appears you subdivide straight from the dynamesh model without any zremeshing? Is that correct? -When you bring the model into Blender, did you decimate it first, or just through it in at 100% of the resolution? What was your final poly count for the entire model? Thanks!
@Kaktusbaer
Жыл бұрын
Hi, thank you and thank you for your question. Yes you can subdivide dynamesh meshes. I do it a lot to. I dynamesh the geometry low and subdivide it a couple times. ZRemesh would work too. Yes I decimate the mesh before bringing it to Blender. This speeds up the render time. I try to be at about 1million polygons, is still high enough. I hope this helps you with your project :)

Honestly my jaw was just dropping constantly throughout this video. Hard to not get demoralised when I watch videos like this as my 3D skills are nowhere near this level!

umm, few things... speaking from me being a complete beginner n someone who wanna learn.. this is mind-blowing work n I really love it. but when it said step by step, I thought I would be able to see the steps bit in real-time or just not too fast, because I could not catch on to it. steps were written below but they went away too fast unless you wanted us to slow down the video n follow along. umm, but it's something that even I wrote on my recent video, but I had basically shown it in timelapse, so I'm not the right person to point it out either. but I kinda added a voice to try to explain what I was right, but even when it comes to voice it's my first attempt, so I can't defend myself much on that front.

Hey, thank you for your feedback. sorry to hear that you couldn’t follow the video that easy. But I’m happy that you tried to learn from it. Actually the full sculpt took some hours to complete. Unfortunately no one will follow a video that’s hours long. I tried to make a compromise between a tutorial and a Timelapse. I for example learned a lot from Timelapse videos when I was a student some time ago. The internet was not full of free tutorials back then like nowadays. If you like to learn and have some guidens from me you can visit my patreon there you will find voice over courses, get live lessons and much more. @@empGaming_Music_Movies For photorealistic characters I always use photos as reference, for such as face, body, cloth, accessories etc. Of course there are no photos of a sci-fi space marine or such. That's a great question! Using a base mesh for sculpting can definitely save time, especially on a professional level. However, when learning how to sculpt anatomy and exploring creativity, it's important to develop a solid understanding of the fundamentals of anatomy and not rely solely on a pre-made base mesh. I'd recommend practicing with and without a base mesh to develop a well-rounded skillset and approach to sculpting.
