Damliner joining requires specialized skills and machines to produce the perfect seal. One of the best damliner joining tools is by the use of the hot wedge welder machine. The machine works by producing precise heat, speed and pressure to produce the desired joints. The joint produced is usually water tight with zero leakage.
Step by step procedure on how to join two damliners / pondliners using the wedge welder
1. Lay the two damliners to be joined on a flat surface. For non flat surface, you may have to put timber below the damliners
2. Have the two damliners overlap at 10-15cm (4-6 inchest) apart. The overlapping ensures you get sufficient space for welding.
3. Set the right temperatures for the hot wedge, set the right gear then carry out the actual welding. For smaller gauges the temperatures are lower than bigger dam liner gauges. Check the speed too of the wedge. Slower speeds might burn your geomembrane
4. Once the welding is done, disengage the gear then switch off power.
