STEP BY STEP IRIS PAINTING - with just 5 colours

Step-by-Step iris painting with just five colours. In this iris painting tutorial, I will show you how to paint this eye-catching iris in watercolour using just 5 colours - and you don't even have to have the ones I use, just use what you have. In this full-length tutorial, we will cover wet on wet painting as well as wet on dry painting so that hopefully you will find this easy step by step painting in watercolour stress-free! I will show you watercolour glazing and blending watercolour so that you can have a painting to be proud of. But there's more! In this step by step iris painting not only does it have a botanical art feel, but also a loose background to add drama to your painting - I will show you how to achieve this wonderful blurred look.

I just had a really close up look at the almost finished painting and noticed how you’ve allowed some background areas to have that watercolour bloom effect and it looks so nice and natural, love it. Ive heard artists talk about using it to their advantage and this is a good example. A beautiful painting with or without the background, the details on the flower are so amazing.

Hi Jenny. You don’t have to Pay to go onto Facebook. Patreon is our paid for service, but you can access the line drawings, well the later ones at least, from the way I stated. We will be putting all of the line drawings at the end of our videos and on the community tab, but that’s just from a few weeks ago so any videos before that will just be on Facebook. But the line drawings and reference photographs for later ones will be the new way as well so you will be able to join in 😀
