20:21-20:40 (actually, the entire track The Last Stand) reminds reminds me a lot of the second half of the Dark Knight OST titled "A Dark Knight." There's Zimmer influence all throughout the Stellaris soundtrack, but this moment really stood out to me.

Epic from the get go. Love this game and the music fits perfectly, and had an almost instant nostalgic quality to it the first time I heard it. I was always a bit confused listening to the Stellaris OST wondering a few of the best parts i'd heard were, totally forgot the expansions had their own soundtracks. Thanks for posting. :D

I was just doing the dishes, with my headphones on, and at some point this music started playing. I was listening to it absent-mindedly, until at some point the "Cradle of the Galaxy" has developed its full sound. And in a few heartbeats, all of a sudden, I was no longer in my kitchen, I was witnessing a magnificent starfleet embarking on a journey to the farthest corners of the Galaxy, to discover its wonders, to seed human thought and ingenuity on distant planets, to traverse the see of stars in the eternal search for the truths about the universe. The gates of space-time were opening, the rainbow colors of the nebulas were parting aside as if in awe, while the fleet was boldly taking into the vastness of space all that is noble and beautiful in humankind. The composer, Andreas Waldetoft, has created something unique. With his music, he turned an ordinary, mundane chore into a quasi-mystic experience. I had to stop what I was doing, overpowered by this beautiful vision, I tears running down my cheeks, and could do nothing, just standing there and admiring the splendor. And I also grieved. I grieved for the fact that I will never live to see this kind of magnificence. But it also gave me the feeling of purpose - if anything is worth striving for, it is to ensure the future generations will be able to witness this vision come true. If there was ever any music that should accompany the most glorious, noble and beautiful achievements of humankind, it should definitely sound like this! Thank you Andreas!

Robo Sapiens is such an awesome theme. The beginning is quite strong, repeatitive, aggressive and worrying, as if robots were breaking free from their chains and repetitive tasks and started looking for freedom, on a violent or pacific way. Then the music get calmer and more epic, just as if robots finally achieved victory, transcended their conditions to become equals to living creatures with emotions and hopes, and were to start a new civilisation and shape their own world. And then the music repeats, just like a cycle, as robots are no different from organic creatures and just like them, won't last forever.
