「Stellaris」 Earlygame ECUMENOPOLIS Rush - Top Builds [6/10]

Ойындар

A bit of micro can go a long way. In this video, we explore a build that can reliably get a Ecumenopolis VERY early on, in the first 30-ish years of the game. While your fellow empires are playing about with robots and corvettes, you're building a planet-city of your very own!
This build uses tech beelining to get the technology requirement of Anti-gravity engineering out of the way as quickly as possible. I've done a video covering it in detail a while ago:

    Don't forget to build 3 resource silos. You've got 15k storage capacity at the beginning, and need 20k for the ecu. Forgot that the first time I tried here. No one's gonna see this probably since it's a really late comment.

    The biggest take-away [but not the only one] we get from this exercise is understanding the tech tree and how to work backwards from the target tech in the most efficient way. I've seen you do this in other videos, but this one is particularly well done, sir.

    So forgive my noobiness, but what is the point of speed building the ecu when the feeder planets are not even ready to support?? The ecu cannot produce any minerals so have a few planets to support the ecu and the minerals food requiremetns for lithoids is a challenge. I built the ecu around 2245 but it was severly gimped by my supporting planets. I just restarted and am trying this strategy on a slower pace because the tech gain is tremendous. Perhaps I don't know how to optimize my planets well enough yet?

    I like the idea of Tech B-lining. I typically would go for the requirements of what I wanted but if there was nothing open I would often just pick the cheapest tech thinking it would clear and I would get a reroll faster. But yeah that does open up other techs which fill out the options of cards that might be pulled. I'll have to give that a try on my next play through. Also do you have a better copy of the Engineering Tech tree? The link gives a low res copy which is hard to read. Also what about the other 2 tech groups?

  • @_llamatic

    @_llamatic

    CG trade policy gives 0.5 energy and 0.25 consumer goods per trade value. That means at a cost of 2 energy, not 4, is where that policy is better than going pure energy. 2 * 0.25 + 0.5 = 1 energy per trade value. Until the galactic market is established, it will always be more efficient to go with consumer benefits, because the price will always be above 2 energy per consumer good.

  • @Stefan_Anon

    You generally want to be going for the three main repeatables you mentioned in the physics tree equally. This is especially relevant with weapon damage and attack speed, since going for both damage and fire rate results in higher DPS than just going for one of them. In the engineering tree, I usually go for mineral output repeatables (and the kinetics techs if using those), and society is whatever (lifespan and admin cap are probably the best ones there).

  • @EliteSpectre32

    @EliteSpectre32

    3 жыл бұрын

    I mean you can still rush it but the time won't be nearly as good. Without the relic world you have to finish 3 Traditions trees since you need the arcology project ascension perk and it asks for 2 other ascension perks and anti-grav engineering. You'll also need to replace all districts on the planet with city districts which will cost a lot of minerals and also destroy your energy and mineral income. Alternatively you could turn a planet that isn't your capital into a ecumenopolis (the smaller the planet the less district slots you need to fill) but you'll also need to clear all blockers on that planet so you'll need to get the techs for that as well (I'd recommend getting a New Worlds expertise scientist for the increased chance to roll into them). You won't be reaching it by year 23 for sure but if you did minmax it like him you'd be able to get it by year 50-60 I'm sure

    Playing as a pacifist criminal syndicate is a great way to fight cold wars while building your economy nicely. The ai is bad at trade but good at producing pops, which is what you need for your good corp buildings. The criminal syndicate will get you dragged into hot wars which is fine as a war seeking pacifist nation that leeches the productivity and life from your enemies planets. If you play as a federation builder normal corp, you can use your corp buildings to bolster your allies into being better, which is good for you in a lot of ways. I'm a huge fan of ecus and while this is impressive, it's probably very far from optimal. You're sacrificing a lot of growth and settling which is critically important for the early game. Secondly, you're gonna run into sustainability issues not having any colonies capable of supporting an ecu at 2230. Thirdly, you're not in a good position to maximize the output of the ecu at all. They don't really become the powerhouses they're meant to be until well above 50+ pops. Below that point they're not a whole lot better than any other planet, let alone several capable of growing many more pops than a single ecu.

  • @OneBiasedOpinion

    This is more a “proof-of-concept” than anything else, I think. If you can rush down Ecus by 2235, then you can absolutely do the same with other, more lucrative early-game resources.

    I tried Technoslavers on quite a few runs, and they were always lower in output than the Technocracy + Meritocracy combo, in the early game. I finally gave up on trying to be different, in order to stand any chance at keeping up with Stefan.

    You won't be able to buy motes from the market to activate the clearing edict if you don't have a source of motes. Only the genetic modifier on the lithoids allows it that early.
