Massive thank you! Wanted to add - not sure if its already in the video as I'm at 2:34 : Look at the exclamation marks colors, if its yellow its a 2-star, if its purple its a 3-star. It helped me a lot as the exclamation is present before you start the mini-game, and you can just wait for the rarity you need. You can check the rarities of each fish in the video as they are shown when they are caught. Edit: Many thanks for the likes! In some areas I had to fish 3-4 times before the exclamation mark starts showing before the minigame.

For anyone coming to this video in the future when the game has been out for some weeks to months to years and fishing was hard as shit for you as it was I; ShiftUp got us 1. Go to Settings Column 2. Go to Accessibility Row 3. Scroll all the way down until you see “Fishing Controls Replacement” turn this ON. What this does is replace the repeated button presses of your controller with 1 INPUT. Meaning you only need to hit Square ONCE to line the fish and R2 ONCE to reel it in automatically. Makes things SUPER EASY. Hope this helps! Edit: I didn’t watch the video clearly coz it told u, but if u went to comments like me first there you go!

@@samatomke What I’ve figured out is to already have the analog stick in the direction opposite of the fish when you reel it in. It’s like this: 1. Start fishing obviously 2. When the reel part comes in, whatever direction the fish is GOING, you ALREADY have your analog stick directed the other way BEFORE it starts to struggle again. 3. I found out the fish WANTS to keep going in the direction it was going in BEFORE it changes its trajectory. Allows you to get the drop on it first before it swing the other way. So if its swinging RIGHT➡️ after pressing Square, the reel comes in, hold your analog stick ⬅️LEFT while reeling in and when it gets back to the square. Hopefully that makes sense!

The accessibility setting is HUGE. And for anyone starting on the bigger fish but seem to be running out of time you need to buy the second set of fishing data to increase your time, took me some digging to find that out.

I caught the Whale Shark using Special Bait next to Clyde before I even started any of the quests, so I was surprised when the quest said that Whale Shark could only be caught using Fantastic Bait. Thanks for the video! It was a huge help!

After you catch the last fish there's no need to go back to the bulletin board before talking to Clyde to get the ocean suit, you can talk to Clyde right away and go to the board later. Thanks for the video thoughj, it helped a lot!

Is there some special trick to it? I cannot reel the larger fish no matter what I do, I have the fish control replacement on and haptic feedback off but the timer just runs out very quickly

I think you can get all of them in all the fishing places, i got all the medium sized fishes on eidos 7 (infront of the clock, except for the flying fish since i run out of baits) i got all of the small fishes on the oasis and the bigger ones (shark, whale, tuna, these 3 are each on a different category, therefore all the other fishes in those categorys too) on the oasis too I only went to the one on xion, the one on eidos 7 and oasis and i got all of them in those 3 places

Just caught an Ocean Sunfish with a Wiggler in Xion

Do i have to have those quests unlocked? I cant go back to the bulletin board because i started one of the final missions. But i have the fantastic bait

you can fish all type of fish in a specific pond, that is, if a pond gives medium fish, you catch all in one pool if it gives the large fish - in Matrix map, you can get all there as well. I have not been to them map with giant fish yet but I assume it will be the same, already got the 2 mega legendary fish, Btw, you can also fish and catch fish with no bait, which is probably a bug and I hope it gets fixed :)

maybe i missed it but where in the video do you explain the gigantic fish ? I've seen conflicting data online, some say the only place to catch the 3 gigantic fish is Eidos 9 and some say you can catch them in the Oasis. and don't you need the 3 gigantic to get the evo suit from Clyde >?

I waited until the end to catch them at eidos 9 because I saw a guide that said it was the only spot to catch them. That is why I was confused. So it is true you can catch them at the oasis!

funny thing is, is that you can pretty much catch all the small, medium and large fish in that little pond in edios7 right before you go into the construction zone. the only ones I didn't catch there was the sea bass, salmon and the arowana.

Eve is a really good swimmer for being someone who hates swimming. Althought some explanation is given in the game about that.

Nop, i mean you can try to wait and see but you probably already noticed that you can run out of time easily (so you spam almost all the time square and R2) what i have seen tho, is that they usually start going to the left (so you go right) they keep going to the left and at the third time you have to move to the opposite side then it can either keep that way or change, maybe this would help, i have been fishing for a while and 80% it goes like that for me

I thought it was for me too, but it's not like that, it could be that your problem is that when you go to talk to Clyde the mission symbol does not appear when you talk to him, but by reading the dialogue options with him if you started the quest the quest appears. fantastic bait, I already did it and finally Roxanne sold me the information

For those who can't get "A Gift for a Fishing Maniac" bulletin board quest like I couldn't, there's 2 prior fishing related requests you'll need to do first. One is "Fish Research" and the other is "An Unforgettable Fish Dish" which require you to catch a channel catfish and halibut

Can someone help me out? I turn on the accessibility and it still does not give me enough time while using the special bait - not sure if I’m putting in a wrong input or something but I never have enough time to reel in a big fish

The timer kept running out when trying to catch a great white at the oasis. I think i was able to it after i bought the advanced fishing data. Overall, my RNG was good and it took me less than 2 hours.

Why can't I get the passcode for the chest from roxanne after getting all of the fish?

I’ve heard others say they got every single fish from oasis, but I kept getting the same ones over and over there

What do I do if Roxanne doesn’t sell the info for the fantastic bait? I have the quest active. The quest says to buy it from Roxanne but she doesn’t have it for sell. I can’t even open the chest without buying the info first from Roxanne. Even tho Roxanne isn’t selling it.

I'm confused how you get the bigger fish. I have farmed enough of the tiny fish to buy both fishing datas but no matter what bait I use I am only getting the same 5 fish that the shrimp gives me. I used 6 special bait in a row and got lobster, porcupine fish, goldfish, beta, and 2 mud dudes.

There are some locations that ONLY give Small/Medium respectively. The oasis has all of the Jumbo/Gigantic fish while the Wasteland fishing points contain a mix of Medium and Large. Xion’s fishing point gives Small/Medium/1-2 large species
