Hey Scotty, American car makers are being taken by other international brands. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Where are the US financial resources to bail them out? Or, probably ICE American cars are JUST NOT SUSTAINABLE FINANCIALLY!!! Open your eyes! ICE American is just a marionette dump under oil lobbies' strings. American muscle will always be dependable on OPEC and the American toyboys. Speculation on oil and car engine sizes. Say hello to EVs.

I’ve worked in vehicle sales for Chrysler for the last few years, at the same time of the merger. Still work there and with all do respect there has been ZERO indication that the Chrysler brand out of the 14 brands is being discontinued. The head of Stellantis has been on record saying that the Chrysler brand will be a pillar for Stellantis for years. Yes the 300 is being discontinued after this year but Stellantis has confirmed that there will be more models coming either in 2024 or 2025. Additionally, I sold one of the first 2023 Dodge Hornets and my customer has had it for almost a month now. I followed up with her and she has told me how much she loves it! The styling, Dodge look, and drive quality. I test drove it myself and I tell you this has the best pick up of any company suv I have ever driven! 268 horsepower for a small compact suv!! Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but the bias towards Chrysler, Alfa Romeo, Dodge, etc is vastly overblown. Every vehicle has issues, it’s inevitable.

They should pull the plug on the Chrysler brand so it could be added to the expired makes of Plymouth, Pontiac, Oldsmobile, Saturn, Mercury, DeSoto, Packard, Studabaker, Edsel, Nash, and Hudson. All were discontinued for the same reason. Stellantis could replace Chrysler, and revive, and relaunch American Motors.
The older Alfa Romeo’s were always a hoot to drive and nice handling cars. They were actually simple and reliable just that mechanics working on big American V8’s had little idea how to work on them. I had an old Italian mechanic and my Alfa’s ran fast and were cheap to maintain. I remember my high revving 1750cc took 8 litres of oil and never overheated.

The company I work for recently ( 2 years ago) purchased some equipment from an Italian manufacturer. The manufacturer could not finish installing all the equipment before they left and the attitude was, we got what we paid for. The problem is the project was over a year overdue and $20 million over budget. They never could make the equipment work properly for more than one cycle. We've been running it for several months and have robbed many parts of the unfinished equipment to keep the other 2 pieces of equipment running. Too funny that you talk about "electrical problems in Italian cars'. I owned 2 jeeps between 1990 and 2007. Before Stelantis. Both had the famous Chrysler starter motor, which would die every 2 years without fail. Also, the resistor in the heater fan control would die on a regular basis- changing that every 2 years was one of the reasons I got rid of my second jeep after 6 years. Multi control on the signal stem also crapped out after 5 years- so I got rid of the thing. Tell me again about "Italian electronics......."

I get what you mean about not being able to stand behind something that you wouldn't personally choose for yourself. Many many yrs ago, I sold my '91 rx7 for $300. When the guy that bought it came I told him everything negative about it. He was shocked. He said, "I've bought a lot of used cars from every type of seller imaginable,& this is the 1st time anyone has ever started their sales pitch by telling me the car is a P.O.S." 1st off,it was a 5spd automatic transmission that you could switch from sport to comfort shift types. That's an immediate red flag, but the car was in great shape visually, but the transmission slipped like crazy after driving it for an hr or two & about the same time the transmission started slipping, it wouldn't steadily idle. The rpm's would normally set around 1,000rpm but once this started acting up, it would fluctuate from 800 then up to around 1,200 & then fall again. Sometimes it would stutter & die if you weren't expecting it. I just couldn't knowingly sell someone something that I would get mad about if I was the one buying it.
I bought a NOCO lithium pack a my son in law used one with his diesel truck in the winter. I got the same model and it sucks. I returned the first one, the 2nd one will not work if the battery in the car is completely dead, we used the big lead acid packs at the dealership and I can see why. They actually work!

The 2007-2008's are kind of ugly but the pre-refresh 2004-2006's look half decent - My mom has a 2005 Solara V6 coupe that she bought new with probably 220-230k miles by now and it's never left her stranded except when the alternator went bad and the battery light came on just before the car cut off so at least she had warning so the car didn't break down in the middle of the street. The interior quality in them is kind of poor though which is surprising for Toyota. The leather seats don't hold up well and the leather/vinyl material on the doors and dashboard likes to wrinkle and crack, and the doors sound hollow and cheap if you close them too hard which is the opposite of how the first generation Solara doors sounded when you closed them. Change the timing belt on the V6 models, they are interference engines - But they are definitely reliable mechanically.

Alfa Romeo - used to call them Alfa Rust-ay-o. Had an Alfasud, years ago. The only thing that went faster than the car was the rust progression.
FAWLTY TOWERS! Man, I've watched so many of your videos Scotty, and I didn't think I could like you any more than I already did! Great choice!
Love that show too.
Hey Scotty, how are you, I live down on Long Island. I’d love to go up north meet you in person my favorite KZreadr.

Sounds exactly like what happened when General Motors Holden stop making the Holden Commodore in Australia. We got some French Peugeot or something like that read that as a Holden Commodore and what do you know in 2 years General Motors were out of business in Australia

Fawlty Towers😂😂 Great choice Scotty. Loved that series. "Don't mention the war!" Lol. 👍
I want some of what this guy is on, please!
I loved Fawlty Towers and I also enjoyed Are You Being Served, both funny British comedies.
Faulty Towers is funny as hell
Quality Means Nothing And There's No Such Thing As A Bad/ Poorly Built Vehicle! People Who Have That Kind Of Mindset Shouldn't Even Own Or Be Allowed To Work On Cars. All Vehicles Are Great, Its All about Maintenance! There's No Such Thing As A Bad/ Poorly Designed Vehicle because Vehicles Can't Have Problems Or Fall Apart.
Thanks scotty for the sign language

Scotty why you showing a gremlin not a AMC Hornet I’m from lake county Illinois just south of Kenosha county
... Faulty Tower and check out The Red Green Show some very outrages auto adaptations (some with duct tape) ...
I dont remember the AMC Hornets ever being considered a muscle car...

I agree. Calling a Hornet a musclecar is a BIG stretch.
Lmao not Fat Kok
Fawlty Towers? Ya, you betcha. Great show Scotty. But I'll still lean towards The Honeymooners with Jackie Gleason and Art Carney and the girls as my favourite of all time. It was just so bang on relevant to my family life growing up.
That the reason why when my Jeep Liberty 2010 V 6 goes bad .Iam hopefully to trade it in on a Tacoma Toyota used
Well, I just got notified today that Stellantis is terminating my lifetime warranty falsely stating that they have no record of my Jeep being serviced or inspected. Ironic, as I have only EVER taken my Jeep to a Jeep dealership for all of its maintenance, recalls, and repairs numerous times than I should have needed to do. This is a great way to lose customers. I can't believe I paid $5K to end up defrauded.
I have AAA to start my car when battery is dead
Fawlty Towers is hilarious! 👍
Reminds me of that movie were they run the car backwards to get to the original milage so the father won't find out.

Scotty I have thoroughly enjoyed your videos and learned much over the years. Do you not get paid ? I do believe you have a kind heart for a capitalist. Keep up the good work. You do a great service.
1:03 Loooool!!!
I think with Stellantis you will get in future always the same Peugeot-technology in Fiat,Citroen,Alfa,Opel or Jeep clothing.BTW the old Alfa V6 or double camshaft 4 Cylinder were great engines.
Fawlty Towers!!! Brilliant show, timeless comedy
Chrysler had gone through a lot of turmoil, but this is a slap in the face, of what used to the one of the very best manufacturers of practical cars & trucks throughout the planet... It is not even close to the same thing it used to be between the mid 19-20's till the mid 1990's....
Alpha Romeo is a sticker, not a company... I bet the plug in hybrid is based on a PSA platform... PSA was the company that made Opel profitable again, shortly after they acquired it from GM. I guess the majority of Scotties audience never worked with Italiens... you could learn a lot
Scotty, love Basil Fawlty. I suppose you know John is renewing the series.
Funny, I was a test "applications" engineer for thirty years. APPS. 🙂
Scotty liking Fawlty Towers just solidifies my trust in him. My late father introduced me to it & Monty Python. Scotty is a man of great taste.
Alfa can't have a worse rep than dodge.. no wonder the trucks dropped the dodge name

As long as you have the cables connected as you describe between cars (and at minimum not connected backwards), what's the harm in leaving the donor car running? I've never had it cause an issue that I'm aware of in however many times I've done it over the years, whether I had the donor car or the disabled car. In addition this might be the first time I've heard of shutting the donor car off.

You got lucky, one of these days you’ll run into a car that needs a boost that has a faulty alternator that may or may not send a spike of voltage to the running boosting car, thereby possibly frying your computer. When I boost someone, I do it the way he says. I’m trying to help someone in need, not cause myself costly repairs.
