Hey Scotty, American car makers are being taken by other international brands. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Where are the US financial resources to bail them out? Or, probably ICE American cars are JUST NOT SUSTAINABLE FINANCIALLY!!! Open your eyes! ICE American is just a marionette dump under oil lobbies' strings. American muscle will always be dependable on OPEC and the American toyboys. Speculation on oil and car engine sizes. Say hello to EVs.

I’ve worked in vehicle sales for Chrysler for the last few years, at the same time of the merger. Still work there and with all do respect there has been ZERO indication that the Chrysler brand out of the 14 brands is being discontinued. The head of Stellantis has been on record saying that the Chrysler brand will be a pillar for Stellantis for years. Yes the 300 is being discontinued after this year but Stellantis has confirmed that there will be more models coming either in 2024 or 2025. Additionally, I sold one of the first 2023 Dodge Hornets and my customer has had it for almost a month now. I followed up with her and she has told me how much she loves it! The styling, Dodge look, and drive quality. I test drove it myself and I tell you this has the best pick up of any company suv I have ever driven! 268 horsepower for a small compact suv!! Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but the bias towards Chrysler, Alfa Romeo, Dodge, etc is vastly overblown. Every vehicle has issues, it’s inevitable.

They should pull the plug on the Chrysler brand so it could be added to the expired makes of Plymouth, Pontiac, Oldsmobile, Saturn, Mercury, DeSoto, Packard, Studabaker, Edsel, Nash, and Hudson. All were discontinued for the same reason. Stellantis could replace Chrysler, and revive, and relaunch American Motors.

The older Alfa Romeo’s were always a hoot to drive and nice handling cars. They were actually simple and reliable just that mechanics working on big American V8’s had little idea how to work on them. I had an old Italian mechanic and my Alfa’s ran fast and were cheap to maintain. I remember my high revving 1750cc took 8 litres of oil and never overheated.

The company I work for recently ( 2 years ago) purchased some equipment from an Italian manufacturer. The manufacturer could not finish installing all the equipment before they left and the attitude was, we got what we paid for. The problem is the project was over a year overdue and $20 million over budget. They never could make the equipment work properly for more than one cycle. We've been running it for several months and have robbed many parts of the unfinished equipment to keep the other 2 pieces of equipment running. Many of the parts are failing faster than we can receive new ones.

Both had the famous Chrysler starter motor, which would die every 2 years without fail. Also, the resistor in the heater fan control would die on a regular basis- changing that every 2 years was one of the reasons I got rid of my second jeep after 6 years. Multi control on the signal stem also crapped out after 5 years- so I got rid of the thing. Tell me again about "Italian electronics......."

I get what you mean about not being able to stand behind something that you wouldn't personally choose for yourself. Many many yrs ago, I sold my '91 rx7 for $300. When the guy that bought it came I told him everything negative about it. He was shocked. He said, "I've bought a lot of used cars from every type of seller imaginable,& this is the 1st time anyone has ever started their sales pitch by telling me the car is a P.O.S." 1st off,it was a 5spd automatic transmission that you could switch from sport to comfort shift types. That's an immediate red flag, but the car was in great shape visually, but the transmission slipped like crazy after driving it for an hr or two & about the same time the transmission started slipping, it wouldn't steadily idle. The rpm's would normally set around 1,000rpm but once this started acting up, it would fluctuate from 800 then up to around 1,200 & then fall again. Sometimes it would stutter & die if you weren't expecting it. I just couldn't knowingly sell someone something that I would get mad about if I was the one buying it.

The 2007-2008's are kind of ugly but the pre-refresh 2004-2006's look half decent - My mom has a 2005 Solara V6 coupe that she bought new with probably 220-230k miles by now and it's never left her stranded except when the alternator went bad and the battery light came on just before the car cut off so at least she had warning so the car didn't break down in the middle of the street. The interior quality in them is kind of poor though which is surprising for Toyota. The leather seats don't hold up well and the leather/vinyl material on the doors and dashboard likes to wrinkle and crack, and the doors sound hollow and cheap if you close them too hard which is the opposite of how the first generation Solara doors sounded when you closed them. Change the timing belt on the V6 models, they are interference engines - But they are definitely reliable mechanically.
