I used to own three Rolex watches that I bought back when they were expensive pieces...but not INSANELY priced. So I sold them and now have three Steinharts. I don't miss the Rolexes one bit. And AFTER buying the Steinies, I have almost $50,000 in my vacation fund! Gonna take some fine dive vacations in the Caribbean and South Pacific. 🤣😎👍

As a former owner of a 1967 1665 DRSD MkII, the Steinhart is a nice homage to the original. Although it closely resembles the DRSD, if you squint while looking at it, it isn't a knock-off obviously. I actually wore my DRSD on special occasions...but sold it a number of years ago to buy a farm....literally. Still have a number of vintage subs handed down by a family member...but stopped wearing them. I was researching something that would pay homage to my favorite albeit gone watch and found the Steinhart and this video. Thanks for taking the time to post it.

It's not a double adjustment on the clasp. There are two springbars there - one holding the bracelet on, the other for catching the safety foldover (and making that satisfying click. The other end of the clasp does have four micro-adjustments. I love, LOVE Steinharts. Amazing value. Nice review! I've subbed.

Ive owned this same watch for nearly 6 years. It’s comfortable, accurate, hard wearing and great to look at. I also have a Rolex in the safe. Too valuable to wear, too expensive to service.

I've had mine for 8 months and love it. I purchased it through Gnomon and had them install a Steinhart Jubilee bracelet. The Jubilee is super comfortable and really looks appropriate on the OVR.

8:50 that little tap that sticks out, which is responsible for keeping the clasp closed, can be bent slightly backwards to loosen the tightness, making it easier to open and close. Regarding the safety, wrap a towel around a pair of skinny pliers. Put the pliers completely inside of the safety and slowly expand, expanding the safety outwards. This will loosen the safety, making it easier to close and open. I have done this on many watches without issue. Just be careful and don't over adjust the tap, because it can snap off. Fret not, because Steinhart sells those clasps.

Just a quick tip about Steinhart Bracelets & those hard to open clasps - if you open it from the other end of that clasp, it flips open very easily. I always wear my bracelets back-to-front so i can get better purchase on the other end of the clasp. That Sharp edge of the clasp is A Real Killer! ☠️

I do not own a Ginault but the specs are similar. The Ginault Ocean Rover II seems comparable but at 3x’s the price is nowhere near the same value (and using the same steel/specs/movement)! Hope that helps!

I owned both, and sold the Ginault! The Ginault bracelet is nice but I prefer my Steinhart

Nasty clasp. Definitely a deal breaker. The stem on the hour hand is also ugly

Pretty standard clasp for a dive watch under $1k, the hour hand is pretty much an exact copy of every Rolex hour hand ever made… but to each his own I guess

Can you keep your hands still for a second please?, and this is quite a beaten watch by the looks of it. Horrible fit with Steinhart, like the Seiko SNX cases. Unwearable.

Sorry for being so handsy 😂. It’s pretty much my daily wearer. The scuffs buff out with just a few rubs of a 3m green scouring pad so no worries. I like the feel and wear of this so much more than my orange monster, and the movement feels s way quieter and more accurate.

Actually i totally agree with you regarding the looks (from the top/max 30 degree angle) of almost any Steinhard dive watch. I owned 2 of them. The last one being the Ocean 39 904 with eloboré movt. Looks, and feel off the wrist to die for. But i just can't get it to comfy live on my 6'+ wrist. So thats the part i dissagree. And ok, i thought you'd try to make me/us believe that the watch is new. No harm intended. I do appriciate your effort. I just don't like it from the bezel down.
